Cancer is a disease that got its name because of the similarity of the resulting tumor with the same representative of the fauna.
It can be localized in any organs and tissues of the body. Today, medicine is capable of not only determining the presence of a tumor at the earliest stage of its nucleation, but even predicting how a person is prone to the development of
cancer. Adverse environmental conditions, smoking, heredity can provoke the development of education in any part of the body, but throat damage is most common among smokers.
Symptoms of laryngeal cancer, as well as other other oncological diseases, can conditionally be divided into systemic, affecting the entire body, and local, localized at the site of the tumor. Usually the very beginning of the disease proceeds imperceptibly. In order to make a diagnosis on time, each person should regularly take tests for tumor markers and consult with specialists.
Systemic Symptoms of Laryngeal Cancer
- Sensation of growing weakness, severe fatigue, sometimes dizziness.
- Fever, unmotivated decline or rise in temperature.
- Sensation of a βforeignβ object in the throat.
- Dramatic weight loss.
- Deterioration of hair, skin, nails.
It is noticeable that the symptoms of laryngeal cancer are similar to many other diseases. As the disease develops, they increase. To catch the disease at the very beginning, it is worth requiring the attending physician to refer to specialized tests. Laryngeal cancer, the symptoms of which may not appear for a long time, can be cured only in stages 1-2.
Local symptoms of throat and larynx cancer
They can be different, depending on where the tumor is localized. Symptoms of laryngeal cancer that has arisen in the area of ββthe vocal cords can begin with aphonia - gradually increasing hoarseness. In severe cases, the voice may completely disappear. If the tumor originates in the upper part of the pharynx, then it can cause pain similar to that of sore throat. They may not increase, but not disappear.
Gradually they are joined by toothache, difficulty swallowing. Symptoms of advanced larynx cancer: cough, pain when swallowing, streaks of
blood in saliva and during coughing. This malignant tumor, like others, has four stages of development. The first does not give mestastases, it is localized only in one area of ββthe pharynx: on the mucosa or under it. Cancer of the larynx, whose symptoms (photo) at this stage are barely noticeable, can be cured quite quickly. usually not even surgery is required. In the second stage, the tumor grows, occupies the entire department (ligamentous, sub- or supra-ligamentous), but does not go beyond it. A cure is also possible. Third degree: the tumor metastasizes to other organs. In this case, doctors usually prescribe a comprehensive treatment, which may include surgical intervention, drug therapy, treatment with radio waves, x-rays, etc. In the fourth, last stage, tumors appear in different organs, even remote from the larynx. Most often, the disease at this stage is incurable.
