As soon as it starts to warm, flies appear in our apartment. They buzz unpleasantly, bite and carry microbes. The question immediately arises of how to get rid of flies. These insects have the ability to get used to poisons. Therefore, with the help of chemicals, which after several uses they are no longer afraid of, it is very difficult to exterminate them. But, this problem is not insoluble. There are many devices and folk recipes that can help in solving this issue.
One of the steps in deciding how to get rid of flies is the prevention of their appearance. It is to keep the apartment clean. It is necessary to promptly remove food debris from the dining table, as often as possible to take out the bin. In addition, it is recommended to equip the windows with mosquito nets. If it is not possible to purchase it, then instead of nets, you can use tulle. This will create a kind of barrier for these insects, but some individuals can enter your home. However, you must admit that it is easier to fight with single insects than with a whole swarm.
There are several popular methods for getting rid of flies in an apartment:
- the easiest way is to drive them out of the apartment with some herbs. Tansy copes with this task ideally. It can be placed in the form of bouquets around the apartment, preferably in several places. Flies will leave your apartment themselves;
- extermination of flies with the help of poison. To prepare it, you need to mix honey or jam with black ground pepper. Having tasted such goodies, flies die in two days;
- You can also get rid of flies with the help of sugar, which can be found in every apartment. It is a deadly poison for these insects. For this, a newspaper or other paper is impregnated with a sugar solution and placed, for example, on a windowsill. Flies, having “read” such a newspaper, will be dead in a couple of hours;
- install pots with "insectivorous" plants on the windowsill. These can be plants such as papaver, sundew, or venus flytrap.
If these methods seem ineffective to you, there are a number of other ways to get rid of flies, for example, using Velcro, which is hung in the places where these insects are most crowded. It can be purchased at any hardware store, or you can make it yourself. Here are some recipes for preparing a mixture for adhesive tape:
- melt 60-70 grams of rosin and, with slow stirring, add 3 grams of wax and pre-prepared chopped rubber (0.05 grams), mixed in 50 grams of petroleum jelly, to the resulting solution. The resulting mixture is smeared with parchment or a regular sheet of paper, while leaving a couple of centimeters with the edge unprocessed. Such a solution retains its stickiness for two months;
- to prepare another solution, 30 grams of rosin and 20 grams of castor or linseed oil are needed. Mix and melt in a water bath these components. After the mass becomes homogeneous, add a little honey or jam to attract flies. The resulting mixture is applied to paper, as in the previous case;
- the third version of the mixture contains 90 grams of rosin and 30 grams of sunflower oil. After a homogeneous mass is obtained, honey is added and applied to the paper as described above. The resulting solution remains sticky for more than one month.
In conclusion, I would like to note that the proposed methods of getting rid of flies are recommended to be used in the complex, for example, a mosquito net that prevents their penetration, plus small tansy bouquets installed as decoration in the apartment, and an adhesive tape to kill flying insects. This will help completely get rid of flies.
