Judging by the history, the very first devices for women (urinals) appeared at the beginning of the 20th century. But at that time this invention was completely unclaimed. Only at the end of the century, in the 90s, female urinals again aroused interest among the inhabitants. Then just began a stormy surge, a wave of feminist views. Women's urinals, however, also men's urinals, in their understanding, should not be perceived not as an ordinary means for needs, but as a unique art object. At the same time, an object with an unusual design solution nevertheless carries its direct functionality. In the plumbing market, you can find unusual forms of urinals - a cube or an egg. One designer from Europe even introduced a male urinal in the form of female lips. This model literally blew up the market; many night clubs wanted to buy it.
In the 90s, one of the European companies seriously approached the development of women's urinals. A model was created where the lower part was lengthened, expanded at the back and had a slight deflection. In many women's toilets in Europe began to use this type.

First, urinals were installed in one of the largest universities in the country, and then similar toilets began to appear everywhere - in fitness centers, shopping centers, train stations. Mixed-type urinals appear more and more - female + male.

Dry flush
When studying the design of the urinal, pay particular attention to how the flush will be performed. There are three types of flushing: automatic, manual, and dry. I would like to pay special attention to the latter type. An anhydrous, or “dry,” urinal is not washed off at all by water. The purification functions here are performed by an adsorbent that absorbs moisture. The membrane can also play this role, it has a replaceable cartridge, it opens and closes, thereby preventing the appearance of unpleasant odors. To avoid the formation of urinary stone, a special gel is applied to the membrane, washing, it prevents the appearance of plaque.
Manual urinals have special pressure taps for draining.
Automatic flushing systems
An automatic urinal, the price of which is an order of magnitude higher, may have different operating principles. The most common is sensory automation: the sensor, responding to movement, turns on the flush after the user has moved a certain distance. Radar sensors react to stopping the flowing fluid, flushing opens in accordance with the specified parameters. The most modern are solenoid sensors, they respond to the alkaline environment of the inner cover of the urinal. There are also flushes with a built-in timer, speakers and others.
Manufacturing materials for urinals are different: sanitary ware, sanitary ware, stainless steel. In public places, most often they install models made of stainless steel with anti-vandal characteristics. For home use, the best solution would be to install a sanitary ceramic urinal.
Installation tips
Equipping a toilet in the apartment, installing a urinal, it is worth considering some controversial points. For example, height - it is selected purely individually, depending on the wishes of the owner. When installing equipment in an old house, make sure that the walls are strong enough. This is important so that the device does not fall off, since its weight is quite massive. Plasterboard walls are not suitable for installation. When leveling the surface, it is better to stop the choice of putty.
If the reliability of the wall strength is in doubt, it is better to give preference to the installation. The robust steel frame can be mounted directly into the wall. In a small bathroom, the urinal will look out of place. When connecting the system, discard the flexible water liner: it will ruin the whole picture. It is better to hide all elements under finishing materials or mount directly into the wall. Particular attention is paid to sealing joints. After connecting the water, carefully check all the joints, in time to eliminate all defects of work. The comfort of further operation will depend on the proper installation of the equipment.
