The rules of the road describe each maneuver, its features, and execution techniques. Among other requirements, the rules for rebuilding in traffic rules are prescribed. This is stated in paragraph 8. It clearly describes what light and sound signals are given on different sections of the road, how to make turns and turns, how to give way, and where and how to move in reverse, how the lane is being rebuilt.
According to the SDA, the restructuring is an exit from an occupied row or strip, while maintaining the original direction of movement. A road can have from two lanes for traffic in one direction. Outside the city, driving is permitted only in the extreme right lane. The second lane is used only for rebuilding with a further lead.
Subclause 8.1
According to traffic rules, lane changing, turning, stopping and other maneuvers should be performed taking into account the light signal to other traffic participants. Typically, when performing such maneuvers, a turn signal is given. If it does not work, then the driver speaks of his intention with his hand.
The desire to turn left is indicated by the side arm extended sideways or bent at the elbow and the right arm raised up.
Turning to the right is indicated by pulling to the side of the straight right hand or by pointing with the left hand, bent at the elbow joint and raised up.
If the hand is straight and raised up, then this indicates that the driver is going to stop.
Subclause 8.4
Performing a lane change, the driver gives way to other road users who move along the way, as well as vehicles moving on the right side.
According to traffic rules, rebuilding can be performed by the following images:
- If the driver decides to change lanes, in which the vehicles go straight, then the lane must give way.
- At the same time, the “right hand” rule is in effect.
According to the SDA, lane changing should be performed in such a way that there is no interference with other participants, and also so as not to force the neighboring car to brake sharply or change the trajectory.
City traffic flows
When traffic flows are sparse, it is easy and simple to rebuild the lanes using traffic rules. But this does not always happen, most often the execution of a maneuver is a complex process, especially with a high flow rate there is a high probability of a side collision.
To prevent this from happening, in the process of rebuilding, drivers carry out calculations of the available space, taking into account the speed of movement. And this is the minimum of what the driver must do before rebuilding.
The prescribed rules for rebuilding in traffic rules strictly regulate what a driver should do before performing a maneuver. First you need to evaluate the possibility of rebuilding and only after that you can begin to maneuver. Necessarily turn on the indicators of the right or left turn signal.
If the reconstruction is planned to be carried out on a section of the road along which the cars move quickly, then the maneuver can be performed at speed. This is when the car goes straight without changing the speed mode, then the driver slightly turns the steering wheel a small angle. As a result of this action, the machine begins to change the direction of movement, shifting in the right direction. With this option of rebuilding from row to row, traffic rules do not speak of a turn of transport, but of displacement.
If the lane along which the car moves is free, and it needs to change lanes, then to ensure safety, you can move faster than a car from another lane.
Lane change
In order to make the reconstruction process clearer, it should be considered as an example. So, we have two cars - red, which moves on the right side, and green, moving on the left. Green wants to perform a lane change to the right lane. In this case, the driver gives way to the red car. There is no interference rule on the right, but only traffic rules for changing lanes in a row, along which the red car is traveling in its lane, here it is the “queen” and should not be inferior to anyone. In the event of an accident, the green car will be guilty.
Rearrange from right to left
When changing from the right lane to the left, the rules must also be followed. So, our two cars drive along the roadway and the green one needs to complete a rebuild. As already mentioned, the right-hand rule does not apply in this situation. Therefore, the green car must notify other road users about the lane change by turning on the turn signal or giving a signal by hand, then the driver passes the red car and performs the lane change. Sometimes it may be necessary to miss more cars to maneuver. In any case, everyone who moves along the left lane can continue to move quietly, but those who want to change lanes must give way to all vehicles in the adjacent lane. In the event of an accident during a rebuild, the culprit will be a green car.
Mutual rebuilding
In a mutual lane, two cars traveling in adjacent lanes begin to maneuver. In this case, the rule of the right hand applies. To make it clearer, consider the maneuver by example.
The green car is driving along the right lane, and the red car is driving along the left lane. They include turn signals, showing a desire to change lanes to the adjacent lane. In this case, the driver of the green car moving along the right lane can calmly change lanes to the left lane. The driver of the red car, which is moving along the left lane, must give way. After waiting for the completion of the maneuver of the green car, red can be rebuilt on the right lane.
In the event that an accident occurs, the red car will be considered the culprit, since she did not miss the green car due to interference on the right.

Generalization
In the eighth paragraph of the SDA, the rebuilding should be carried out only on condition that the maneuver will be performed safely not only for the driver performing the maneuver, but also for other participants in the movement.
Before the maneuver, you should definitely turn on the indicator. When changing to the right lane, the right turn signal is turned on, and when changing to the left - the left one.
If during the movement it is not possible to rebuild due to the strong flow of cars, then it is worth waiting for the moment when the cars “run out”, and only after that perform the maneuver. Otherwise, there is a risk of becoming the culprit of the accident.
To ensure that the driver knows where he can go along the selected lane, prescriptive signs are installed.
Some clarifications
When driving in lanes, the rules also provide for the following points:
- If the machine does not rebuild, then it must not give way to anyone.
- When performing a lane change on the right side, the driver must give way to all passing cars.
- When changing lanes, while changing lanes, the driver of the left lane must give way to someone who is still driving along the right lane. At such moments, it is important to remember that mutual rearrangement is regulated by interference with the right or the right hand.
When rebuilding a car, it may have an advantage over other participants in the movement, or it may not have it - it all depends on the maneuver.
When driving in lanes outside the city, if there are two or more one - way lanes on the road , you can enter the left lane only if you need to perform a lane with a further lead. Driving outside settlements is permitted only in the extreme right lane.
