The compact, reliable and maneuverable Volkswagen Tiguan crossover has been produced by the German auto industry relatively recently (since 2007). It is worth noting that this model has become the most successful almost in the entire history of the concern. In confirmation of this, we can say that the new product for 5 years of production on the conveyor did not leave the first places in sales ratings. But even the most successful models sooner or later need restyling. Therefore, in 2012, the company presented a new generation of the updated Volkswagen Tiguan. The specifications and design of this car have changed a bit, which means we have something to talk about. Design
Externally, the new “Tiguan” is not much different from its predecessor, in the design of the novelty there are only two main trends: to make the car more practical (especially in off-road performance), and at the same time emphasize the unified corporate style of the company. By the way, Volkswagen Tiguan is currently available in several body styles, each of which is good in its own way. For example, the Track & Field version has massive sills and bumpers, indicating that the car belongs to an off-road class. Well, the Sport & Style version, on the contrary, has gained sporting features, making the car more like a “passenger car”. In the rest of the details, the restyled jeep has much in common with its older brother called the Volkswagen Tuareg (as a result of which they are sometimes confused by some motorists).
Inside
Despite the fact that the novelty is presented in four variations of interior decoration (and this is a lot), the interior of the updated SUV is still characterized by minimalism and simplicity. But still it is worth noting the positive aspects, which, by the way, are more than enough. Firstly, the model in question is equipped with a new multifunctional steering wheel, secondly, the dashboard now has not such a poisonous green backlight, and thirdly, seats that have acquired a more ergonomic shape and a lot of adjustments occupy a special place in the interior.

It is worth noting that the German manufacturer prepared a pleasant surprise for the buyer, which consists in a wide variety of engines. There are now 6 of them (four gasoline and 2 diesel). As for the first type of engines, here the buyer can choose units with a capacity of 122 to 210 horsepower and a working volume of 1.4 to 2.0 liters. Diesel versions have a capacity of 110 to 170 liters. s., and their working volume is exactly two liters. By the way, engineers developed all the engines anew. Also from scratch, a new transmission has been developed for the Volkswagen Tiguan, the characteristics of which include automatic shifting of seven gears.
