If you see a small green insect in your garden, then your garden must have been attacked by aphids. It is very easy to recognize it: the aphid on the trees affects the leaves, twisting them, and it can be seen with the naked eye. What is this insect and how to deal with it?
Aphid is a small pest, it can be green or black. Most often found in aphids on trees and flowers. It multiplies very quickly, capturing the entire garden, vegetable garden and even greenhouses and greenhouses. This insect does not disdain any kind of plants, especially fruit and flower crops.
Aphid colony strikes, for example, a tree, sticking tightly to leaves, branches and sucking juices from tissues. As a result, plant growth slows down, the leaves curl in a tube, and the flowers and ovaries fall off. In this case, the insect produces sticky sugary secretions. They favor the appearance of sooty fungi on the leaves, which disrupt plant photosynthesis.
The danger lies in the fact that aphids carry dangerous pathogens. One insect is enough, and the whole plant will be infected with a virus. Do not underestimate the harm that aphids do on trees. Precautions must be taken in time.
For example, you can make a tincture of garlic or onion (30–40 g), add laundry soap (4–6 g) and pour 1 liter of water all this. Spray trees at least 3 times with an interval of 10 days.
Another way is to make a tincture of hot pepper pods. 100 g of fresh pepper pour 1 liter of water and boil for 1 hour. Let brew brew for 24 hours, grind pepper and strain. The resulting concentrate must be diluted with water 1:10, add 20 g of grated laundry soap.
How to protect your garden if aphids appeared on flowers? Most often, roses, chrysanthemums, carnations are affected. It is very important to properly care for the flowers, as weak or overfed plants become fast prey for the insect. For landing, choose a bright place with sufficient air circulation.
Fighting aphids on flowers is much simpler than on trees. It is enough to plant one of the plants in the flower garden - lavender, carrots, dill, thyme or fennel, and this will scare her away. If the garden is already affected, then make a tincture of the decoction of any herb: wormwood, dandelion, yarrow, onions, garlic, potato tops, bitter pepper or mustard are also suitable. Spray flowers 3 times a day with a break of 10 days.
Celandine during flowering is also a good remedy for aphids. Boil 400 g of this plant for 30 minutes or make tincture during the day. Spray affected areas, flower buds, leaves.
If you notice only a few aphid insects, then simply remove them with a soapy cotton swab. Ants will also warn you about the presence of aphids, which will begin to gather around the plant, attracted by the sweet secretion of the insect.
Do not forget that it is easier to prevent the appearance of aphids than to fight it later. This insect is able to move from plant to plant. Aphid in the trees can destroy all the fruits, and the pest on the flowers will ruin your entire garden. Do not allow the appearance of this insect, carry out disinfection!
