Where does the constant feeling of anxiety come from and how to deal with it?

If, unexpectedly and for no apparent reason, a slight shadow of a sensation pops up that something bad is about to happen, terrible news or something like that arrives, then we can laugh it off or declare a sixth sense. If we are talking about infrequent cases when there are objective reasons for the appearance of such fears, then they do not cause much panic, but a constant feeling of anxiety can exhaust a person. Moreover, this sensation entails a whole chain of unpleasant and even dangerous problems, starting with a disorder of sleep and wakefulness, ending with a depressed state of the nervous system and mental disorders. Often the following symptoms of anxiety are observed: nervous trembling of the fingers, craving to sort out small objects, depressed or too violent breathing, panic attack.

Attempts are also being made to replace psychological stress with physical activity - many cases are known when a bunch of small household chores were redone on nerve ground. Symptoms also include an obsessive state, a painful attachment to the means of communication. For example, parents experiencing a constant sense of anxiety may not let their mobile phones out of their hands, control the state of their child’s mobile phone — it is mandatory to fully charge the battery and have a positive balance. If at the same time the child at some point in time did not answer the phone, moreover, regardless of the age of the offspring, the obsessive anxiety paints the most terrible pictures instead of the most obvious ones. Not an underpass or other communication problems, but an accident, catastrophe, criminal offense.

Where does the anxiety state come from? In most cases, some negative experience associated with the lack of control over the situation is to blame. If the emphasis of the negative passed precisely on the lack of control, and then the cultivation of guilt: “I could not do anything” begins, then in the future the subconscious will respond to any conditions, like a warning sign. Literally, if the negative experience was associated with dogs, then a constant feeling of anxiety is not excluded, not only when the dogs are watching, but also in a similar situation on the street, for example, there will be an alarming fear of gateways or narrow streets if the dogs attack occurred in this particular area.

In most cases, common sense nevertheless makes it clear that there is no basis under this irrational fear, and a person begins to fight, to suppress a constant sense of anxiety with the help of willpower. Just want to advise, such fighters for the independence of reason run the risk of driving themselves into the trap of the subconscious. The stronger the resistance of the mind, the stronger the tension, and the tension of the nervous system and generates the very anxious feeling against which they try to fight with the help of willpower. That is, we generously give ourselves another reason to worry, there is concern about the correct interpretation of our own state and mood.

It is important to understand that a constant feeling of anxiety can be a symptom of a neurosis, this requires medical treatment after a mandatory comprehensive examination. Willpower does not help if this tiring anxiety state is the result of hormonal imbalance or central nervous system activity. There can be many reasons, however, if you have obsessive, disturbing thoughts that have no objective basis, you do not need to consider yourself guilty or put labels on yourself. Sometimes it’s enough to put in order the daily regimen, adjust the diet and start general strengthening procedures to significantly reduce the feeling of anxiety. The final list of measures, in any case, remains with the doctor. Before resorting to the services of psychotherapists, the medical causes of anxiety should be excluded.
