Our world around us is developing so rapidly and moving forward that, it seems, we do not keep pace with it and live after it. So, relatively recently, a clear qualification of sexual orientation has been determined: heterosexuals, homosexuals, bisexuals ... However, more and more often we hear another new distinction - pansexual. Who is a pansexual? What are the features and significant differences?
Who is a pansexual?
Pansexuality as a phenomenon and a definition that applies to people with non-traditional sexual orientation is rather complex.
Love is very difficult to express in words, sometimes it is even impossible to describe this state. However, society forces us to “shackle” our feelings into frameworks and definitions. So, it was difficult at first to take for granted the appearance of gays, lesbians, bi. Yes, what to hide, many still do not allow expanding the scope of their consciousness and accept the phenomena of non-traditional sexual orientation.
Pansexuals are not bisexual or gay. Adherents of this category of sexuality do not set the boundaries between the sexes. They do not care what kind of congenital gender a person is. In fact, pansexuals completely ignore gender differences. They strive to find a soul mate, close emotional contact, despite the type and gender of the partner.
Androgin, intergender, bigender, transgender, man, woman - these definitions do not apply to the interpretation of the definition of “pansexuality”. For pansexuals, spiritual intimacy, mutual understanding, respect and platonic love are important. Often people, without realizing it, are representatives of this sexual orientation. Indeed, many people confuse pansexuality with bisexuality or even physical perversions.
Pansexual: orientation features
We have already determined who such a pansexual is. This is a man who can be sexually attracted to men and women, and even those who have not decided on their gender.
Understanding this topic, many will think that the concept of "pansexual" hides under itself debauchery and complete physical emancipation. However, this is not quite true. After all, pansexuals are not looking for an additional opportunity to have even more sexual partners. The priority for them is the right to love of any person, without an “innate” framework: gender.
If we consider the inner sensations of pansexuals, then they see in front of themselves directly a person as a unit of love. Representatives of this orientation fall in love with the essence of man, with his soul. For them, the feelings, emotional warmth and sensations that they experience while being next to a person are important. However, they do not pay attention to the classification of the beloved (beloved). In order to understand the philosophy of the worldview of pansexuals, you need to think about their slogan: "Gender is not genitalia."
Varieties
There are two types of pansexuality. Let's analyze the first type - gender-fluid pansexual.
To fully understand the meaning of this definition, one should understand the interpretation of the word “gender fluid”. Translated from English, fluidity means “moving” identity (genderfluid) and sexual orientation (fluid sexuality). Literally - mobile sexual orientation may change after a certain period of time. Also, this concept should not be included in a specific classification. Gender-fluid pansexuals may be aware internally that they combine male and female traits. Moreover, under different circumstances, they feel a predominance and a tendency to a certain gender to a greater or lesser extent.
An omnisexual pansexual is synonymous with the term "pansexual." This is a sexual attraction that is fundamentally different from bisexuality. Aesthetic perception, platonic love, romance and sexual desire without the classic gender dichotomy (man / woman) are the fundamental signs of pansexuality (omnisexuality).
Pansexuality ... sounds complicated ?!
The term “pansexuality” was also used by the famous Austrian psychoanalyst, psychiatrist and neurologist Sigmund Freud. He put in the meaning of the sexual behavior that was hidden behind the human reaction. The word appeared much earlier than could be accurately determined: the world is not divided into two poles - men and women.
Gender identity implies a person’s informed choice. And the term “pansexuality” is quite new, if not to say: the “trend” of our time. Now this concept is often found in the media. Journalists literally daily notify us of how modern society is "amusing itself": from unprecedented to complete emancipation.
The "fashionable" word conceals a lot of other vector directions. Therefore, do not try to fully understand the meaning of this new trend over the evening.
Pansexuality as a phenomenon in theory
At the moment, there are many theories about the ratio of hormonal, genetic and social factors that can determine a person’s sexual orientation. Until now, experts from around the world have not come to a consensus.
Pansexuality - an innate quality or freedom of informed choice? It is definitely difficult to answer. One thing is clear: the choice is determined by the desire not to accept global gender standards and labels. One sexologist figuratively said: "Bisexuality is a double bed, and pansexuality is an erotic training ground."
Celebration day
The flag of pansexuals will help to better understand the adherents of pansexuality. Thanks to psychology, you can find out what color means. So, the flag contains three colors: pink, blue and golden.
Pink color is a symbol of the female sex, blue - respectively, of the male. The golden color symbolizes the third sex, which includes various sexual orientations (transgender, androgyny, genderquir, hermaphroditism).
If we compare the flag of bisexuals with the flag of pansexuals, then the conclusion is obvious: bisexuals are limited to two sexes, and pansexuals prefer to go beyond the traditional framework.
When is the holiday of pansexuals celebrated?
May 24 is the day of pansexuals or the day of visibility of pansexual people. And March 31 is the international day of transgender people and those who boldly and openly declare their sexual orientation. This is the day of those who are gender-uncomfortable in society, as well as those who have become pioneers in the fight for gender equality and against discrimination.
Who is a pansexual? You can argue about this a lot and for a long time. However, one thing is clear: if the phenomenon of “pansexuality” already exists in our modern world, then it means it has a right to exist. And we need to be tolerant and not condemn the choice of another person. Where will pansexuality lead? What values will be violated? Perhaps already violated? What awaits us in the future? Time will tell ...
