Every day we meet a large number of people. Sometimes we see that not everything is good with them. Of course, this can not always be called psychopathy, but some people cope too little with everyday problems, their behavior is very conservative, and they cannot react flexibly. A psychiatrist will say that such a person has a personality disorder. However, this phrase says little.
For accuracy, many types of personality deviations from the norm are distinguished. Western specialists divide the diversity into 3 main categories: eccentric behavior, theatrical behavior and anxious behavior. However, there are disorders outside the classification, for example, passively aggressive.
Fancy people
Eccentricity is inherent in some individuals, it is they who are most often noted as not quite normal non-specialists.
- Paranoid personality disorder. Such people are extremely suspicious. In personal relationships, they are cold and keep their distance. Without proper evidence, they very quickly begin to assume that other people want to harm them and treat them badly. Therefore, they react very negatively to the slightest signs of antipathy. And people really start to treat them badly because of this negative reaction.
- Schizoid disorder. Such people avoid others, preferring to live in the world of their fantasies, tend to abstractly theorize, but in practice are often helpless. They never share their deepest feelings. They say little and are afraid of emotional intimacy.
- Schizotypic disorder. These people are similar in behavior to schizoid people. The difference is that schizotypics are unusual in behavior, perception and styles of activity. Many of those who subsequently developed schizophrenia showed schizotypic behavior. However, most people with this disorder never become schizophrenic.
When the theater is not entertaining
All these people are to some extent demonstrative, their behavior is unstable and infantile.
- Hysterical personality disorder. People with a similar diagnosis are constantly looking for communication. They want to attract attention always and everywhere, while taking away a share from others. Often they tend to see sexual overtones in relationships where gender does not matter. Tantrums easily converge with people, but their relationship is superficial. Sometimes they come up with illnesses for themselves.
- Narcissistic disorder. Such people are cold and love only themselves. They need admiration and are very sensitive to criticism. They do not tolerate expectations, often achieve much in life, but the bosses from them turn out to be very bad, because they cannot tolerate the fact that someone is more talented than they are, and therefore they often βstrangleβ promising ideas.
- Antisocial Disorder. Such people theatrically reject any norms and rules accepted in society. Interestingly, if there are no viewers, then they can come to terms with the fact that you have to follow the norm. Often incapable of repentance and prone to exploit others for profit.
Fears are brighter than impressions
In the West, they do not distinguish anxiety disorder as a single type; people with such signs are divided into three groups.
- Avoiding personality. These people are fenced off from others, but not because they do not need society. They are afraid that they may be rejected, and therefore avoid taking on new tasks and meeting new people. The existing relations are very appreciated, and therefore they become very good marriage partners if the other half can tolerate their indecision.
- Dependent person. Such people are unsure that they can take care of themselves. They avoid making serious decisions by shifting them to others' shoulders. They are afraid to express their opinion so as not to offend those on whom they depend. They believe that others have great abilities.
- Obsessive-compulsive personality. These people are perfectionists and strive to keep everything under control. They take their duties seriously and often cannot complete the task, which causes problems at work. Although if they work independently in the scientific field, where orderliness and attention to detail are required, such people achieve tremendous success.
The list of disorders with these personality developmental abnormalities is not exhaustive, but we talked about the most common.
Personality disorder is not a psychiatric illness, so you need to be tolerant of such people and help them feel better in your community.
