A good wealthy life attracts everyone. However, fate does not always bring joyful “surprises,” and people are forced to seek help from the state in order to simply not be left without a livelihood.
For the purpose of social security, citizens of the Russian Federation are provided with pensions. Pension is a cash payment that is provided to citizens on a monthly basis in order to compensate.
Everyone understands when a person goes on a well-deserved rest, he receives a retirement pension (though not always well-deserved). But there is another type of pensions that provide social protection to certain categories of citizens.
What is a social pension ? This is a guaranteed payment to those not able to receive a retirement pension. The right to a social pension is available to disabled citizens of several categories.
What is a social disability pension?
This is a type of pension for persons with disabilities of I, II and III groups who do not have any insurance experience at all or the insurance experience is minimal. Persons with disabilities from childhood and children with disabilities have the same right. Even a person who has received a disability due to an intentionally committed criminal act or intentionally inflicted harm to one’s own health can receive a social disability pension.
What is a social old-age pension ? Disabled citizens, men and women who have reached the age of 65 and 60 years, respectively, can receive it. For citizens of the small peoples of the North, this age is reduced to 55 and 50 years. Payments are terminated for the period of employment or the performance of community service, if in this case compulsory pension insurance was carried out .
What is a survivor social pension ? The beneficiaries are minor children left without one (both) parents. Social payments continue even when they reach 18 years of age, if they are studying full-time in any educational institutions (with the exception of institutions of additional education). When 23 orphans are studying, the survivor's social pension is canceled. The same category includes children of a deceased single mother.
The state social pension is calculated in accordance with the Federal Law of December 15, 2001 No. 166- “On State Pension Provision in the Russian Federation”. As amended by the federal law of March 28, 2011, the following sizes of social pensions are established:
a) 2 562 rubles per month have the right to receive:
- disabled men and women over 65 and 60 years old
- citizens of the small peoples of the North upon reaching 55 and 50 years
- minor children and full-time students up to 23 years who have lost one parent;
b) 5 124 rubles per month:
- disabled people of group I,
- disabled from childhood of the first and second group,
- disabled children
- minor children and full-time students up to 23 years who have lost both parents (children of a single deceased mother)
c) 2 177 rubles 70 kopecks per month
- disabled people of group III
It should be noted that the social pension is calculated taking into account the district coefficients that are set for wages in certain areas and localities. When citizens move, pension increases are not paid.
In order to receive social pension provision, it is necessary to provide documents confirming belonging to one or another category of citizens:
a) for senior citizens:
- a document confirming belonging to the small peoples of the North;
- passport;
- a document confirming residence in the territory of the Russian Federation
b) for minor children:
- death certificate of the breadwinner;
- documents confirming that the deceased mother was single;
- documents on the death of parents;
c) for disabled people:
- documents confirming the fact of disability or disability
In some cases, other documents may be required in order to confirm family relationships, to verify the actual place of residence, etc.
