What is a lipoma and how to get rid of it

Adipose tissue, adipose tumor, lipoma are the names of the same phenomenon, which is a benign tumor of connective tissue that develops under the skin and in rare cases penetrates deep into the body - into the muscles, vascular bundles, up to the periosteum.

Since this tumor does not degenerate into cancer, then removal of wen and lipomas - not a vital operation, although still desirable. By consistency, it is quite soft and mobile, and touch does not cause pain; Wen appear in places with a small amount of adipose tissue - on the face, upper back, shoulders or arms. A lipoma is rarely found in the mammary gland, which is able to enlarge and deform it. Such a formation on the face is considered a strong cosmetic defect: if at first the wen looks like a small pimple, then, growing, it can reach up to 10 cm in diameter.

There is also a spilled lipoma, which is an accumulation of fat without clear boundaries in a certain place, usually the limbs. Such a tumor can multiply the arm or leg, deform it, and deprive the function.

If they penetrate the body, they are able to compress the internal organs, which is also a danger.

Wen usually occur in women aged 35-50 years, but both men and young children are affected. Why they arise - nobody can really say, but there is an opinion that an unbalanced diet with a high content of fat and cholesterol is to blame for everything, as well as stress, improper liver function and a violation of the hormonal background of the body.

Lipomas grow slowly and do not cause pain, fever, so they do not immediately pay attention to them, so it is important to closely monitor your own body in order to stop this disease from only at the beginning of its growth. In addition, there are special criteria, because of which it is necessary to consult a doctor:

  • there was pain in the wen area;
  • inflammation has begun;
  • a lipoma secretes fluid or pus;
  • the tumor began to cause discomfort;
  • in any way deformed, burst or spread.

There are numerous popular methods of getting rid of a wen, but in reality it can only be removed surgically or using laser surgery - in no case should you self-medicate, especially with painful sensations and deformations of the surrounding skin.

Preliminary analyzes are as follows:

  • Ultrasound / x-ray / computed tomography;
  • general blood analysis;
  • HIV / AIDS analysis;
  • hepatitis test.

The surgical method consists in removing the wen with a scalpel - this is a simple intervention that is not at all dangerous for the body, but still requires hospitalization and monitoring of the scar.

But for those who are afraid of one type of surgical instrument, there are several bloodless methods of aesthetic surgery:

Laser method.

Commonly used for operations on the face and head. It precisely affects the tumor, without touching the surrounding tissue, and this does not require hospitalization. There is no scar left after the operation, and the recovery time is only a week. This is a quick and one of the most common treatment.

Cryodestruction.

The impact on the tumor with liquid nitrogen.

Radio wave method.

Removing with a radio wave scalpel is considered one of the most effective methods, since there are no traces of the operation, and also any consequences are impossible.

After the operation, it is important to monitor the wound so that pathogenic microorganisms do not get into it.
