Tanks and Chevrolet Blazer are not afraid of dirt

Chevrolet has extensive experience in the production of SUVs. The history of the company is very rich, as is the pedigree of one of its most famous cars, the Chevrolet Blazer. This large and unpretentious SUV dates back to 1969, when the Chevrolet Blazer of the K series first entered the American market. The new model was so successful that by 1982 the company was producing two different versions of this truck. The first option, called the Blazer S10, was based on the Chevrolet S10 pickup . This modification for a long time was produced only in a three-door version and was equipped with engines from 2.5 to 4.3 liters. The second five-door version was called Blazer C / K. This car became the father of the idea of โ€‹โ€‹the legendary Chevrolet Tahoe car.

1991 brought a lot. The Chevrolet Blazer S10 model has been restyled. A five-door modification was put into production, which from now on was equipped with only a 4.3-liter engine. Depending on the modification, this unit could produce from 160 to 200 horsepower. The following years did not bring any fundamental changes: the marketing department of the company indulged in only the names. In 1993, the Blazer S10 model began to be called Blazer S, and in 1994 the letter designation was completely removed.

In 1991, the Blazer S10 lineup was seriously updated. A 5-door model appeared in the Chevrolet Blazer family. At the same time, the models began to be equipped with 4.3-liter engines, which could be 160 or 200 horsepower. In 1993, the name of the SUV was also updated, from that moment it was called Blazer S. And in 1994 the name was also reduced, the letter S disappeared, now the new models in this series were simply called Blazer. So the world saw the โ€œChevrolet Blazerโ€ with 3 and 5-tever bodies and with a 4.3-liter engine, which hid a capacity of 193 hp.

In 1995, the Chevrolet Blazer appeared, which was designed for South America. This car had a slightly changed appearance and other power units: gasoline engines with a volume of 2.2 and 4.3 liters and a power of 113 and 179 horsepower, respectively. This model is notable for the fact that its assembly began in 1996 in the city of Elabuga, Tatarstan. That is why this model is well known in Russia, it even came up with the nickname "Elabuser." True, this project ended very ingloriously, since the 1998 crisis brought down all sales, and competitors of this brand started to hear masses that, they say, the Elabuser was equipped with a bad engine. The owners of this car have to disentangle the consequences of that marketing trick so far: selling a car with such a story is difficult. One way or another, but thanks to these two factors, the car was bought poorly, even despite its very attractive price, so in 1999 production had to be closed.

In 2001, the new Chevrolet Blazer debuted in the United States. True, little is left of the old model, even the name has been changed: now the model was called Trial Blazer. The car was equipped with a new type of aluminum six-cylinder engine, this monster is able to give out 273 horsepower with a volume of 4.2 liters. You can also choose the eight-cylinder version, then the power will be already 294 horsepower.

The release of the traditional model continues to this day, although now in the hierarchy of prestige it is slightly lower than the Trial, which combines the outstanding characteristics of the Chevrolet Blazer with new approaches to the automotive industry.
