Rules without which wedding is impossible

Today you will not surprise anyone with the fact that it was the wedding that has become obsolete. Few people resort to such a sacrament, and if anyone decides, it is unlikely that they understand the essence and purpose of this rite. But everyone knows that a wedding is nothing more than a marriage, which is concluded by the Lord God Himself in heaven. However, for each religion, this rite is held taking into account a number of rules, wedding without which it is impossible. So every nation has its own rules, but they all have the same meaning, aimed at combining the fate of two loving hearts.

Wedding is an Orthodox tradition that has its roots in the distant past. This sacrament has long existed in order to emphasize immateriality, namely the spirituality of the union of two people. The main requirement for a young couple is full consent to participate in the sacrament of weddings on a voluntary basis. After all, young people must be sure that they really need a wedding, they are ready to honor and keep all Christian commandments in the future. The wedding is to some extent similar to what you are used to reading in fairy tales, because this process is not so similar to what happens during the formal registration of marriage in the registry office.

Wedding Rules

The main requirement for a wedding in the church is to reach adulthood. This age is determined by the state itself. Marriage must be believers, and faith must be truly sincere. In order for the wedding to take place, both must be baptized in the Orthodox Church. As a rule, the church does not recognize divorces. However, if you decide to terminate the marriage, you need to contact the church priest and only if he considers it necessary to divorce you, then this will happen. However, such cases are quite rare. After all, marriage is dissolved only with the permission of the bishop of this church, and there must be good reason for this . For example, one of the spouses has lost faith in God or left the family of his own free will, was sent to prison or to compulsory treatment due to mental disorders.

There are such cases that already divorced people meet a loved one and they have a desire to remarry in the church. However, they must be prepared for the fact that re-marriages are very rarely concluded in the church and for this it is necessary to obtain the consent of the ministers of the church.

Wedding ceremony in Orthodoxy

Ever since the time of Ancient Russia, young people who have accepted marriage have turned to the church, where the Orthodox wedding took place. They had to swear an oath to God, presented to them in this procession in the person of the church and the priest, that they would never violate this union. However, today people should understand that the rules of weddings in the church provide for a number of requirements for young people, which they will have to implicitly fulfill for many years. Newlyweds must be sure that they are ready to love and respect each other, participate in the education of their own children, and always support and protect each other.

The basic rules of weddings in Orthodoxy include the observance of a certain fast for seven to ten days, and immediately before the wedding itself, the young must undergo the sacrament rite. Do not forget about the bride’s outfit, because her dress should be preferably white, her arms, shoulders and neckline are covered. Either a hat or a veil is also needed, but the face must be open. And, of course, before the wedding, young people should be blessed by their parents.

Thus, the wedding rules do not require anything supernatural from the young. All that young people should come to church with is love and confidence in their decision.
