Currently, fire trunks are used by professional firefighters and ordinary citizens who are concerned about their own safety. The main application of this equipment is the target direction of fire extinguishing substances for extinguishing a fire. Fire departments have a wide range of different types of these weapons. Citizens with internal fire water supply most often use manual fire trunks of the RS-50 brand. The equipping of fire panels and cranes with the specified device and other primary fire extinguishing means in educational, administrative, private, public and other buildings allows self-extinguishing at an early stage. Consider the variations of this fire-technical weapons.
Trunk RS-50
It is widely used on fire trucks, trailed motor pumps and fire hydrants. The rather primitive design, low cost of the materials involved and the simplicity of operation of this unit gave an impetus to the prerogative of choosing the RS-50 hand barrel for those responsible for safety in organizations and enterprises.
The barrel is designed to form and direct a continuous stream of water. The supply of extinguishing agent will be uninterrupted, that is, there is no overlap lever on it. The barrel is made in two versions: plastic and aluminum alloy. The most wear-resistant is considered metal equipment. The brand of weapons is convenient in that it is possible to attach a connecting head to the fire hose, that is, there is the possibility of building up a hose line.
RS-50.01
This model differs from the previous version only in that the barrel is wound on a sleeve. The most common use of the RS-50.01 is on fire shields and cranes. It is an integral complement to the fire hose line.
RSP-50 and RSK-50
Manual trunk barrels (RSP-50) and combined (RSK-50) are used by professional fire departments. The diameter of the connecting head is 50 mm. Unlike the first generations of the unit, these have the possibility of forming not only a continuous stream, but also a spray. This property makes it possible to shed fire on a larger area, as well as to create a water curtain that allows you to limit the spread of fire.
This spray gun is used to precipitate toxic substances and various flammable liquids. It is practiced in the use of fire extinguishing in the premises of buildings and structures, since the fire extinguishing agent (line with the barrel) is excellent for maneuvering the gas supply link, where there is a high concentration of harmful gases.
There are several versions of this equipment, but the flow rate of extinguishing agents and components are unchanged. Here is added a strap for carrying it and a braid on the case for convenience. One gunner can independently work with RSP-50 and RSK-50.
Modifications and modern versions of the RS-50 barrel
The consumption of extinguishing agents, the appearance, the versatility of the design and a number of other advantages include products of this equipment of the fire service. Modern developments of the unit allow productive and high-quality use not only aqueous solutions, but also foam ones for extinguishing.
Manual fire barrel KURS-8 with a foam generator is a universal fire extinguishing agent. It is used when burning solid materials and flammable liquids, and, for example, cooling tanks are spilled from possible depressurization. An excellent study of the possible change in the flow rate of the barrel, where previously it was not possible. So, early versions had a feed rate of either 2.7 l / s or about 3.5 l / s. Now the flow rate is adjustable from 2 to 8 l / s.
It is worth noting the ingenious solution to the problem in the protective property of the water curtain. The diameter of the torch of the protective curtain is at least 6 meters. A special nozzle, which serves to form air-mechanical foam through a packet of nets, will be of great help in extinguishing a fire by the insulation method. In turn, KURS-8 was modified, where the developers successfully improved it into a pulse. Itβs even easier to control the flow of solutions.
As an example of the improved type of the RS-50 fire barrel, ORT-50 and ORT-50 A are cited. Models are in demand in the fire community, where they are often used in business.
