Hand allergy and its main causes

When an allergen enters the body, the immune system instantly reacts and begins to produce antibodies. One of the signs of this process is hand allergy, which manifests itself in the form of a rash.

We know that hands are constantly in contact with the environment, they are constantly open, because we can do little with gloves. Therefore, they are constantly exposed to adverse environmental conditions. When the hands are under the prolonged influence of some harmful element, some rash is possible. A similar rash is called allergic dermatitis.

When the skin is under the influence of various external irritants, dermatitis of various nature may appear. Low or high temperatures, electric current, and also chemical or mechanical factors can be the cause. As a rule, hand allergies occur after repeated intervention of the allergen in the body. After the initial contact, the immune system begins to produce antibodies, which then, after the second invasion of the harmful substance, begin to act actively.

Today, quite a lot of people, especially women, suffer from allergies to detergents on their hands. As a rule, no detergent can do without potent chemicals in its composition. Therefore, it is not surprising that the delicate skin of the hands, exposed to this kind of effect, begins to itch and become covered with a red rash. Women are recommended to wear gloves when washing dishes, cleaning kitchen utensils, bathtubs, bathrooms and other things with detergents. They protect the skin from unwanted contact with chemicals.

Allergy to the hands, in addition to the rash, has several concomitant symptoms: severe itching, redness, sometimes the occurrence of swelling, swelling, the appearance of watery blisters. When an allergy occurs in a serious form, the patient is hospitalized.

Allergy to the elbows, more precisely, dermatitis, can occur due to contact with materials that cause the development of allergic reactions. Also, overeating of sweets (usually in children) becomes the cause of the rash.

The cause of a rash and itching in the limbs can be atopic dermatitis (hereditary disease). Its exacerbation usually occurs in winter due to dry air and its low temperature. A rash with this type of dermatitis occurs on the upper and lower extremities, on the face and neck. However, it should be remembered that atopic dermatitis is not an allergy!

Allergic reactions on the hands may occur due to the intake of poor-quality food. This is especially possible in children whose immune system is not fully formed. Allergy, as a rule, manifests itself after two days from the time of contact with the allergen.

In order to protect yourself from allergies in your hands, you must avoid contact with those factors that, as you already know, cause it. If you do not know exactly what you may be allergic to, you need to visit a dermatologist who will conduct a series of tests and establish allergens that are dangerous for you.

If an allergy still affects your skin, remember that now damaged areas need serious care. To avoid penetration of the allergen into the skin, use protective creams and ointments. They form a protective film, connecting with dead skin cells. The film contains moisture that the body produces, and also constitutes a barrier to allergens.

Hand allergies can affect every person. Therefore, take care of yourself and protect the most vulnerable places!
