Publishers live off book sales, writers receive royalties for their work, and free electronic versions deprive people of their earnings. In the course of the investigation, it was found that the LitMir website received an income of 1 million rubles every month with an attendance of 14 million per month.

Now the question of why LitMir does not work is no longer relevant. The site has changed a lot and is functioning again. Just no longer enjoys such popularity. The resource has a new owner and administration. A condition for mitigation of punishment was to pay a fine and give the site for its further destruction. But the new owners changed their minds and decided to leave the site.
Now there are no problems with the fact that “LitMir” does not work, new books that are added to it can be read, but for a fee. A significant part of the old base was also paid. The new owners reasoned: why delete everyone’s favorite site, if you can make money on it?

Fans of LitMir can return to their favorite resource again. The fact is that the administration of the old library and the owner got down to business and quickly created a new site called “LiteLife”. On this resource, the appearance of the old library is recreated, there is all the information, reviews, literature, forums. About 99% of the information was recovered, so fans can continue to use the convenient and affordable service that they were once used to.
Now the project operates in the format of a kind of literary club.
So, whether LitMir is working now or not, regular visitors to the old site no longer care.
