It is very unpleasant when insects start up in the house, they appear in different places whole hordes and it is impossible to protect themselves from them and hide in no way. How to get rid of domestic ants? What to do to forever say goodbye to such an omnipresent and annoying neighborhood? There are many different ways to get rid of unwanted aliens. Here are just a few of them:
The best remedy against ants in the home is the DETA drug. “Taiga” or “Angara” is also suitable. It is enough to double-process the ant "paths" with this tool and you can permanently part with insects. The interval between treatments is 3-4 days.
How to get rid of house ants using bait?
A bait with boric acid or borax has a good effect:
- dry bait is prepared from taken in equal parts: boric acid (borax) and sugar sand, carefully crushed in a mortar. The mixture sprinkles the places of accumulation and movement of ants;
- liquid bait No. 1 is a mixture of 50 grams of granulated sugar, 5 grams of boric acid or borax acid and 50 ml of water. The composition is added half a teaspoon of jam or honey, mixed well until smooth, poured into small saucers and placed on ant "paths";
- liquid bait No. 2 is another answer to the question “How to get rid of domestic ants?”. Take a teaspoon of boric acid / borax, 4 teaspoons of glycerin, 2 tablespoons of water, 3 tbsp. sugar and 2 tsp bee honey. On low heat, constantly stirring, maintain the mixture until it becomes a homogeneous consistency. The bait will operate for several months, it does not deteriorate for a long time.
Important! You should not increase the amount of boric acid or borax, the toxic substances in the recipe are contained in such a quantity that working insects could bring the poisoned "feed" to their nest and feed them a family.
How to get rid of house ants yet? Sodium fluoride (instead of boric acid / borax) in an amount of 0.5 g, mixed with 10 g of bee honey, 30 g of granulated sugar and dissolved in 70 ml of water is poured into small bubbles and placed on ant paths.
To protect food from the penetration of domestic ants, packages and dishes from the outside are lubricated with oil (sunflower). Its smell is not tolerated by insects.
A good deterrent from ants in the house is spoiled lemon. Ants will leave the place where such citrus is placed. In addition, the six-legged are afraid of the smell of smoked herring, tomato tops, anise, cloves, parsley. It is enough to put a small piece of the aforementioned products in the places of ant congestion so that they disappear.
An insurmountable obstacle for ants will be a sticky paper tape from flies glued in places of movement.
If you fight insects in accordance with ancient folk remedies, poison for ants will help. It is prepared as follows: they take any of the most favorite means of these insects, mix them with poisons and lay them out in places of their greatest concentration. For example:
- 100 g of granulated sugar;
- for a teaspoon of honey and borax;
- 3 tbsp. l glycerin;
- glass of water.

- ¼ cup of water.

Before you achieve the disappearance of domestic ants forever, the first thing to do is to deal with excessive humidity in the room, since a detachment of these insects prefers damp places for breeding and existence.
If you choose from the chemicals that are commercially available, preference should be given to those intended for controlling bugs, and not with cockroaches.
And another tip: do not even try to remove ants using chlorophos or karbofos - they are not at all afraid of the action of these toxic substances.
