Considering how many little things are relevant for an effective recording process, it is not surprising that today studios use just an incredible number of monitor models. But only one of them has been found in almost all studios for more than twenty years and is used to mix pop and rock music - this is the Yamaha NS modification 10M.
First version
This speaker system has been used in recording studios since the early 1980s. Initially, it was intended only for domestic use as a hi-fi installation, although it was criticized by the press and some experts. However, it continued to be used in studios, comfortably fitting between the mixers' bridge mixers. Gradually, Yamaha NS became a symbol of the sound quality that sound engineers in various studios were constantly looking for. These speakers “worked out” bass drum solos at the required level, without loss of sound power or energy.
Yamaha NS 50f
These floor-standing two-way bass reflex systems are ideal for single use as well as bundled with various high-quality amplifiers or receivers designed for home cinema systems.
They are trimmed with original cellular material. Yamaha NS 50f is a versatile model that is preferred in a theater with a subwoofer. Along with the frequency bands, it runs as many as three three drivers: a thirty-millimeter tweeter with a textile dome, and two completely identical heads with an “aim” for strong and correct bass.

Consumer Reviews
This speaker system has everything that gives excellent sound energy. Especially noted is its optimal compatibility with various AV-type electronics and the reproduction of ultrasonic content of modern digital audio formats such as DVD-A or SACD. According to its performance, this system is in the top three of the test leaders, leading after Heco speakers with Audio Pro, respectively.
The sound of many models from this Japanese manufacturer, such as the Yamaha NS 625, 7390, etc., is accurate and calibrated. An expressive and very harmonious musical range is perfectly arranged according to the complex of all sound parameters.
The bass in the Yamaha NS 50f is resilient and “moving,” in most cases, experts say, well-toned. The balance is natural, sometimes neutral with a slight shift up. The Japanese are on top in everything. In the language of professionals, columns emphasize the “graphic, dashed aspect of the entire musical fabric”. The speaker system copes well with both high-amplitude “twists” and small dynamic reliefs, playing interestingly even at the lowest volume level.
