Yuri Albertovich Rozanov was born on June 12, 1961. Since childhood, sport has sunk into his soul and he tried himself in various sections. He was involved in football, hockey, basketball and table tennis. And if team sports were difficult, then in tennis, Yuri Albertovich achieved great success. Many coaches predicted the fate of the master of sports, but he also had to tie up tennis.
The biography of Yuri Rozanov turned so that after graduation he showed an excellent game in basketball, but because of heart problems, he had to abandon this hobby and look for himself in another matter. In his student years he was expelled from the Metropolitan Energy Institute and was forced to look for a job in various research centers.
As for his sports activities, before coming to television he was an ardent admirer of Moscow CSKA and even for several years supported the team at away games, of which there were more than a hundred on his account. The last time he supported the team at the stadium was the match “Ararat - CSKA”. In addition to the “army”, Yuri Rozanov likes the Dutch team and the overseas hockey team “Montreal Cadiens”.
TV career
Sports journalist Yuri Rozanov began his career on the NTV Plus channel, where he managed to get through a competition of commentators in 1996. Together with his friend, Vladislav Baturin, the famous TV presenter Yevgeny Mayorov took on his team of commentators. Rozanov’s debut as a commentator came on November 2, 1996, when he was reporting from a hockey match between Moscow Dynamo and Kazan AK Bars. For some time, Rozanov was not trusted with anything but hockey.
A few months later, Yuri Rozanov was put on a football match, and the debut in this sport turned out to be in the Dutch championship. Those who followed European championships in the early 2000s should remember Rozanov’s voice not only in the Netherlands, but also in Russian, English and Spanish championships. In addition to the domestic championships, several times he commented on the finals of the UEFA Champions League.
Since 2002, sports TV commentator Yuri Rozanov has already been trusted with international matches. Yuri Albertovich also commented on most of the games of the celebrated World Championship in 2002 and the European Championship in 2008. For several years in a row he was appointed as a jury member to the contest of commentators, where he, along with colleagues from NTV-Plus, selected talented guys to work on the TV channel. In addition to the work of a commentator, Rozanov was the host of the famous Football Club program and for quite some time served as the head of the NTV Plus editorial board.
Since 2002, Yuri Albertovich Rozanov has tried himself as the leading "Sports News" on the state channel "TVS". Rozanov was offered a permanent job in this position, but he refused, having time to comment on only one match, where in the third qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League Moscow “Lokomotiv” accepted a club from Austria called “HACK”.
In early 2010, Dmitry Mednikov, who at that time was the editor-in-chief of the Rossiya-2 television channel, suggested that Rozanov and his colleague, Vasily Utkin, work in one of the well-known media holdings of the State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company, but after consulting, both commentators refused. A year later, Yuri Albertovich received his first award after the youth hockey world championship in the category "Best Commentator".
Ukrainian stage
At the time of the European Championship 2012 in Ukraine and Poland, Rozanova and Utkin were invited to the famous Ukrainian television channel Football for the role of commentators. After the tournament, the hero of the article began to combine work on Russian and Ukrainian television. Rozanov worked on all channels that were part of the common pool of sports television in Ukraine.
In connection with the outbreak of armed conflict in eastern Ukraine, Rozanov leaves the country. Thanking all his colleagues for their active cooperation, he said the following words:
Ukraine is a beautiful country, and as good as here, I have never been. Due to the political conflict, I cannot help but worry about a country that has become my homeland over the past few years. I have always been against politics, and conscience does not allow me to stay here. I am very glad that God gave me the opportunity to spend this wonderful time with good people and do what I love. But in order to continue my journey, I must be closer to my family. This is the main reason for my departure.
Work on the radio
Until about 2009, Yuri Rozanov worked on sports radio in the Eurofootball and Our All programs. Since 2006, periodically broadcasts under the name "Passion for Football" on the famous radio station "Mayak". Also in the life of Rozanov there was a stage when he, together with Yevgeny Lovchev, led the radio program “Field Kitchen” on the notorious radio channel “Vesti FM”.
Voice acting
Yuri Rozanov also dubbed sports documentaries. One of the most successful projects was the film "Legends of the World Championships", where he read the voice-over text.
Together with Alexander Loginov and Vasiliev Soloviev, he was a commentator in the EA Sports FIFA football simulator versions 2013-2015.
Other projects
In 2004, after a successful climb up the career ladder, Yuri Rozanov decided to thank CSKA fans and opened the first online conference on the fans website, where he answered all kinds of questions. Also, with colleagues, he was a regular contributor to the famous Sport Day by Day magazine.
Career now
In the spring of 2014, Yuri Rozanov again tried himself on the VGTRK channel and his first serious work on this channel was the World Cup, in which the Russian team participated. But before that, he was also entrusted with an international tournament, which was held in Minsk as part of the world hockey championship. In the fall of the same year, he was appointed a commentator at home matches of St. Petersburg Zenit on the St. Petersburg channel of the same name. After the end of the season, it was announced that Rozanov was returning to NTV-Plus. In addition to working on this state channel, he also commented on matches on KHL TV.
At the moment, Yuri Rozanov is a commentator on football and hockey matches on the most famous Russian sports television channel - Match TV.
