For example, an easy-to-make compote of rose hips, which will be discussed in this article, can be an ideal solution to quench your thirst and replenish our supply of vitamins, amino acids and other substances that our exhausted body needs so much in the spring.

Rosehip is justly considered one of the most useful berries. It can be safely called a real storehouse of vitamins. The content of ascorbic acid in rosehip berries reaches six percent of the total weight of the fruits. Also in this product in sufficient quantities you can find carotene, vitamins E, PP, K, P, B2 and a whole "bunch" of organic acids - linoleic, oleic, citric and malic. In addition, this berry contains molybdenum, zinc, copper, salts of calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, manganese and iron, essential oil, tannins and other elements necessary for the body.

How to cook compote from rose hips, many know - this is nothing complicated. But how to bring new colors and flavor to the rosehip drink? The recipe can be either simple or complex, so the preparation time of this drink will fluctuate quite a lot.

The simplest way to prepare such an invigorating and healthy drink, like rosehip compote, will not take much time. It is enough to cut large berries, peel them of hairs and seeds, rinse the peeled berries, and then blanch them in boiling water for two minutes. Then add sugar to the resulting drink (about three hundred grams will be needed per liter of water) or honey, and a little citric acid (half a teaspoon and a liter of water). After that, let the compote brew, filter it and cool. Rosehip compote is ready.

But from the same number of berries you can cook not just stewed fruit, but a real masterpiece, more like juice. It takes a little more time, but it's worth it.

The washed and peeled berries are allowed to dry a little and boil until soft. Add to our β€œpotion” an apple cut into slices, the juice of one lemon and half a glass of honey (based on two liters of liquid and three hundred pounds of berries). Bring to a boil, let cool slightly and filter. The resulting pulp must be ground with a blender or pestle and diluted again with already cooled syrup. Put the resulting drink on a slow fire and bring to a boil. Now we get not just a compote of rose hips, but almost juice. To taste, you can add a little more honey or sugar and citric acid, cool and serve.

It is important to remember that such a decoction not only tastes good, but also has a number of useful and medicinal properties. It is recommended for use in a number of diseases, including pertussis, pneumonia, diphtheria and scarlet fever. A rosehip drink is also advised to be included in the diet for the speedy healing of various wounds and for faster bone growth during fractures.

Compote from rose hips will help regulate the metabolism, increase resistance to various infections, improve the condition of a person after an illness and will help increase efficiency. Such a drink, in addition to everything else, also regulates the work of the gastrointestinal tract. And this is far from all the healing properties of such a simple preparation to drink!
