Wedding Rite - All Secrets

All the best in life happens, as a rule, only once. So the wedding ceremony according to church laws also needs to be carried out only once, and before you do this, you need to think carefully, since not all priests undertake to debunk. The wedding procedure itself has many nuances, so you need to be prepared and study them all.

Nowadays, it is not necessary to conduct a wedding ceremony, but many young families want to certify their marriage not only by registering in the registry office, but also before the Lord. For some reason, we decided that the wedding is an ancient rite, but in fact it is not. Since ancient times in Russia, young families were not married, but only exchanged rings, and the wedding ceremony was borrowed from the Byzantines.

There are two wedding rites, namely Orthodox and Catholic. We will dwell in more detail on the Orthodox form of this ceremony, but we also want to mention the Catholic one. For Catholics, weddings and weddings are equivalent concepts and are one. The bride and groom usually have several witnesses, the witnesses are dressed in identical dresses. The father introduces the bride into the temple and leads her to the altar, since it is he who must โ€œtransferโ€ her to new hands. Sometimes a father is replaced by another person who takes care of her.

Now we will consider in more detail the Orthodox wedding rite, which is more characteristic of our country. A wedding ceremony is held in the church; it is both a sacrament and enlightenment. According to the instructions of the church, the rite should be prepared, namely, fasting, praying, partaking of communion and repenting.

The age at which the church allows marriage is different for men and women, 18 and 16 years old, respectively. Since the wedding does not have legal force, it is possible to conduct the ceremony only after official registration.

They make up the wedding ceremony - engagement, wedding, permission of the crowns, as well as a prayer of thanks. The bride and groom should face the altar: the bridegroom on the right side, the bride on the left. The priest, leaving the altar, must bless the young three times. A young family should have candles and crosses. Candles act as a symbol of light and joy, so they should burn throughout the rite.

The betrothal takes place inside the temple, where the priest introduces the bride and groom. The sacrament of marriage begins with the reading of prayers, after which the priest puts on the rings to the young. They put one ring on the husband, it should be gold, and the second, for the bride, silver. But then the young change rings three times, and as a result the bride gets the gold ring and the husband gets the silver ring. Following this, the wedding itself begins.

Young people stand on a spread white (pink) rug, while in their hands they hold lighted candles. After the young people agreed to the questions of the priest, he reads prayers and overshadows the bride and groom with crowns. The gospel is read.

After that, the newlyweds drink three small sips from the red wine bowl, first the husband and then the wife. A common cup symbolizes a common destiny, joy and grief. At the end of the rite, the young people fasten their union with a kiss.

There are some features that should be considered for a happy marriage. If, during the wedding ceremony, the priest goes astray, the candles go out and other signs appear, it is better not to get married, as the marriage will be unsuccessful. The most significant sign will be if a dead person is brought to the church during the wedding, as it is believed that he spoils the bright aura of the young.

It should be ensured that three same-sex people do not stand next to the backs of young people. Only baptized people should be married, because during the ceremony they should be called by the names given at baptism.

After the rite, all the attributes present, including the wedding dress, should be preserved. Since in case of trouble they will act as a kind of amulets, which you can turn to for help.
