In almost every house, it is customary to serve first courses for lunch. It is believed that they are incredibly useful for our body. After reading today's article, you will learn how to cook a light and fragrant soup with meatballs and dumplings.
Classic version
Despite the fact that the Slavs invented the named dish, today it is very popular all over the world. Moreover, each nation has its own cooking option. Someone cooks it on chicken stock, and someone on the water. Therefore, now we will tell you how to make a classic soup with meatballs and dumplings (the recipe with a photo will be presented later). In order not to interrupt the process and in a hurry to look for the missing products, make sure in advance that you have at your fingertips:
- Four large potatoes.
- One medium carrot and one onion.
- A pair of sweet bell peppers.
- Three tablespoons of any vegetable oil.
For meatballs you will need:
- 225 grams of minced meat;
- half onion;
- one fresh egg;
- two tablespoons of greens and breadcrumbs.
To cook dumplings, you need to pre-stock:
- one fresh chicken egg;
- 110 grams of wheat flour.
In order for your family to fully appreciate the soup with meatballs and dumplings, a step-by-step recipe for which will be presented a little later, the above list of products should be replenished with a small amount of butter, three liters of water, salt, ground pepper, bay leaf and other spices.
Process description
At the first stage, you need to do meatballs. For their preparation, minced meat and chopped onions are combined in one bowl. All mix well until a homogeneous consistency is obtained. The container with the resulting mass is covered with cling film and sent to the refrigerator.
After that, you can do dumplings. To prepare them for a pre-beaten and slightly salted egg, add flour and mix thoroughly until a dough is formed.
Then you can go to the main stage. In a pot filled with three liters of boiling water, pre-washed, peeled and chopped potatoes are placed. Five minutes later, preformed meatballs are lowered there and the same amount is boiled. Then, balls of dough are carefully added to the broth, and after five minutes, onions, carrots and sweet bell peppers, previously fried in butter, are also placed there. At the same time, salt, pepper and bay leaf are sent to the pan.
Ten minutes later, the prepared soup with meatballs and dumplings is removed from the heat and served to the table.
Option for children
Unfortunately, not all kids love first courses. Therefore, this option will certainly interest young mothers who care about the health of their children. Before you start cooking a tasty and healthy soup with meatballs and dumplings in a slow cooker (the recipe with a photo will be presented in today's article), you should check in advance whether all of the required ingredients are in your arsenal. This time you should have at hand:
- 110 grams of homemade ground beef or chicken;
- large onion;
- a pair of fresh chicken eggs;
- three tablespoons of semolina;
- two medium potatoes;
- small carrots.
To cook a really light and appetizing soup with meatballs and dumplings (the recipe with a step-by-step photo can be found a little lower), you need to slightly expand the above list of products. It is supplemented with salt, dill and 720 ml of filtered water.
Cooking technology
Pre-washed, peeled and cut vegetables are placed in the multicooker bowl. Pour clean drinking water there and activate the βSoupβ or βStewingβ mode.
While vegetables are cooked, you can do meatballs. To prepare them in one bowl combine homemade beef or chicken minced meat, a raw egg and a pinch of salt. All mix well and form small meat balls.
After that, it's time for dumplings. They are made from a mixture of eggs and semolina. To do this, the yolk is separated from the protein and beat well with a fork, gradually pouring the cereal. At the end, a little salt and the remaining protein are sent to the resulting test.
Thirty minutes before the vegetables are ready, meat balls and dumplings are added to them. For this, semolina dough is collected with a teaspoon and dipped in boiling water. At the final stage, finely chopped greens are sent to the soup with meatballs and dumplings in the multicooker.
Option with tomato
This dish is very reminiscent of a simplified Asian manpar dish. Soup cooked according to this recipe is light, tasty and rich. In order not to interrupt the process in search of missing components, you need to check the contents of your refrigerator in advance. Your kitchen should have:
- 200 grams of minced chicken;
- a pair of large onions;
- one medium carrot;
- 200 grams of unleavened dough;
- two large potatoes;
- a tablespoon of tomato paste.

Action algorithm
The first thing to do is refuel. To prepare it, pre-chopped onions and carrots are sent to a pan greased with vegetable oil and lightly fry them. At the end, add tomato paste to the vegetables and warm the mixture thoroughly. When the dressing begins to fry, a little warm water is added to it and stewed on minimum heat for a quarter of an hour.
Unsalted meatballs are made from ready-made minced meat, and dumplings from unleavened dough. In the latter case, it is important not to add flour so as not to cloud the broth.
In a pan filled with boiling water, carefully lower the meat balls and boil them for five minutes. Then dumplings are carefully sent to them, and after they come up, pre-washed, peeled and chopped potatoes and salt are added there. Shortly before the vegetables are fully cooked, tomato dressing, a pinch of sugar and pepper are placed in the broth. It is important to ensure that the potatoes soften, but do not boil. After that, the soup with meatballs and dumplings is removed from the stove, poured into plates and decorated with greens.
Cheese Option
As in all previous cases, before starting cooking you should go to the store and stock up on all the necessary ingredients. Your list should include:
- 250 grams of minced meat;
- one fresh egg;
- 40 grams of cheese;
- one small onion;
- 120 grams of flour;
- bouillon cube;
- a teaspoon of butter;
- salt, pepper and herbs.
In a bowl, pre-grated cheese, flour and egg are combined. A couple of tablespoons of water is added there and mixed well. In the end, you should get a fairly dense dough.
In a separate bowl mix minced meat, salt, pepper and chopped onion. Small balls are rolled up from the resulting mass and lowered into a pot filled with one and a half liters of boiling water and a broth cube dissolved in it. Then put dumplings there. When they emerge, greens are sent to the water and allowed to boil a little. After a couple of minutes, put butter in the prepared soup with meatballs and dumplings.
