For the first time, the compact German crossover Opel Antara was shown to the public in 2005 at the Frankfurt Motor Show. At that time, the company presented only a concept version of the new product. Today's “Antara” is significantly different from the one that was shown in 2005. By the way, mass production of the model did not start immediately, but was established only in 2008. This time the novelty survived one restyling. But how significant was it and has the technical part changed at Opel?
Design of Antara Opel
The 2013 crossover lineup is virtually no different from its 3-year-old version. What he was like in 2010, he has remained that way now. However, if we compare the restyled crossover “Opel Antara” with its pre-styling version of 2008-2010, there are clear signs of modernization on the face. This allows you to notice even a photo.

In the exterior, the optics, bumper and the location of the fog lights were slightly changed. The rest of the crossover design has remained unchanged. As before, the massive silhouette of the SUV without words speaks of its impressiveness and confidence. Although the new “smiling” shape air intake makes it a good “pet”, which quickly travels through the city streets and gives mood to those around it. If you look at the new product in profile, you can clearly see signs of the American Chevrolet Captiva car. And this is not at all surprising, because both crossovers were built on a common platform. At the rear, the car received new rear light of an unusual shape and a wide chrome molding located at the bottom of the trunk lid. In general, restyling went to the German crossover only to the advantage.
Technical Specifications
In terms of technical equipment, the restyled version of the car received a completely new line of power units. So, the old 2.4-liter gasoline engine "matured" from 140 to 170 horsepower. The addition of this indicator not only made the car more dynamic, but also did not appear on fuel consumption. In the combined cycle, the crossover spends no more than 9.3 liters of gasoline. The six-cylinder 3.2-liter engine “lost weight” by 200 cubic centimeters and began to develop 249 horsepower.
Also, do not forget about diesel engines. They, by the way, are also two, with the same working volume of 2.2 liters. The difference is only in power: the first unit produces 163 “horses”, and the second - 184. Power plants are mounted with a mechanical or automatic transmission.
Price
The price of a restyled Opel Antara crossover in Russia starts at 940 thousand rubles. For this price, a version with a 2.4-liter gasoline engine and a manual gearbox is attached. For the maximum configuration will have to pay about 1 million 153 thousand rubles. Naturally, here is the most powerful 249-horsepower unit and automatic transmission. Considering that after restyling the new Opel Antara crossover has not changed in price at all and at the same time has been significantly updated technically, it can easily withstand competition among its Japanese and Korean “classmates”.
