Arkady Inin is a name familiar to everyone who at least fleetingly encountered such a unique phenomenon as the Soviet satire. Well-known screenwriter, comedian, screenwriter and writer - for his creative work he has published more than twenty books, was the author of the scripts of many sensational comedies. However, he is best known to the general public as one of the creators and authors of the idea of the cult humorous program “Around the Laughter”.
Who is Arkady Inin?
The biography of the outstanding screenwriter and writer began very prosaically. How did it all begin? Inin Arkady Yakovlevich Kharkov. It was in this city that he was born three years before the outbreak of war. His father died at the front, and his mother raised her son.
Under the influence of her mother (she was an engineer), the future screenwriter entered the Kharkov Polytechnic Institute. As Inin himself later admitted, he did not feel much love for the profession of engineer. At that time, he didn’t care where to go and who to be, and the decisive role in choosing the first specialty was played by the offer of my mother to enter the Polytechnic. Having worked for eight years as an electrical engineer, he abruptly changed his life, deciding to go to VGIK.
How it all started
The decision to radically change the profession and, as it turned out, the whole future life, Arkady Inin made already independently and consciously. Passion for theater, humor, satirical life-writing sketches came to him at the institute. Perhaps the beginning of the career of a humorist writer can be considered his participation in the KVN game as a team captain. In addition, there were funny amateur "brawls" and a student theater of miniatures, for which the future famous screenwriter wrote witty scenes and great programs.
His humorous stories were actively published in Moscow editions. Inin's satirical sketches appeared on the pages of popular magazines such as Crocodile, Youth. The local satirist drew attention to the local television, and soon he began to write for television.
Even after graduating from the institute and during his eight-year “engineering”, Arkady Yakovlevich continued to write. Soon a critical moment came when it was necessary to decide whether to continue working as an engineer, to study further and to write scientific work or to change directions abruptly, recalls Inin. Arkady Yakovlevich preferred the second way and entered the corresponding faculty of VGIK.
From Gurevich to Inin
Gurevich - the last name that little Arkady received from the parents of Jacob Noevich and Sarah Abramovna. However, for greater harmony, like many theater and film figures at the time, he took a pseudonym in honor of his wife Inna. Later, Arkady Yakovlevich officially replaced according to the documents of Gurevich to Inin. Interestingly, his wife, whom he owes the appearance of his famous surname, flatly refused to become Inina, and remained Inna Ivanova.
Creativity, film and television
Today, forty films have been made according to the scripts of Arkady Inin, among which everyone’s favorite comedies: “Once Twenty Years Later”, “Fathers and Grandfathers”, “Lonely Dormitory”, “Once Having Lied”, “Private Detective”, “Good Weather on Deribasovskaya” , "Good luck, gentlemen." Few people know that he participated in the creation of some of them as an actor in episodic roles. However, even flashing in the frame for a moment, Arkady Inin managed to create an atmosphere of joy and optimism.
Over the past forty years, domestic television has been impossible to imagine without the witty, vibrant, gathering a huge audience of television shows, the author and creator of which is Inin. On his account more than two hundred television and radio projects. Who doesn’t remember “There is a city somewhere, or a Club of fellow countrymen”, but what is his “Tram of Desire” or “Family Club” worth?
Today in the post-Soviet space there is hardly a person who has not heard the phrase “Around laughter.” This legendary humorous program was broadcast for twelve years, from 1978 to 1999. At the origins of its creation was Arkady Inin as one of the authors.
