What is unemployment? The main types of unemployment

When a part of the population who are able to work cannot find a decent job, this is called unemployment. According to the ILO, those who are unemployed, but are trying to find it and are ready to start this work in a short time, are considered unemployed. And in other words, these are people who are on the labor exchange. The number of unemployed people depends on some indicators - on economic growth, on the growth cycle, on labor productivity and much more. And such an indicator as the payment of unemployment benefits is accrued from the moment a person officially registered at the labor exchange.

There are certain types of unemployment, which largely depend on the compelled and voluntary desire not to work. That is, a forced look is when a person first goes to the service, he has a desire to work, and he seeks to find a suitable job using the exchange. A voluntary look indicates a person who is offered a job, but he does not agree to work due to low pay or other factors (for example, the place of work is not suitable). Also, the types of unemployment may be different. The increase in voluntary unemployment depends on the economic boom or, conversely, on the recession of the economic crisis.

The following types of unemployment are distinguished:

- registered unemployment - a population that is unemployed and officially accepted on the exchange;

- Marginal unemployment is mainly women, youth and people with disabilities;

- Unstable unemployment - is formed as a result of temporary phenomena. For example, if an employee voluntarily changed his job or was fired in places where seasonal work is being carried out.

- seasonal unemployment is when economic activity can fluctuate throughout the year;

- structural unemployment - manifests itself when vacant workplaces do not coincide with the qualifications of an unemployed person;

- technological unemployment - here a part of the non-working population becomes redundant or vice versa, the organization needs more highly skilled workers.

Thus, the types of unemployment depend on many factors. And from this factor comes the payment of unemployment benefits. If the person who was fired due to layoffs, or the organization itself ceased to exist, then in this case, benefits are paid in the amount of the average monthly salary from a previous job. There is such a thing as unemployment benefits by agreement of the parties, when a person is dismissed without concrete reason. In this case, the amount of benefits for this person will be determined by the duration of work, as a percentage based on his average salary. The amount of the allowance may not exceed the amount of the maximum allowance.

But if a person is looking for work for the first time and has got on the exchange, or wants to work again after a long rest, or was fired for good reasons, then his benefit will be the smallest.

Unemployment benefits are discontinued in the following cases:

- if a person has found a suitable job;

- if a person is training or improving his qualifications in the direction of the exchange and he is paid a scholarship;

- if a person did not come to the employment authority for a month for no specific reason;

- if a person moved to another city;

- if a person tried to fraudulently receive unemployment benefits;

- if a person is in a place of deprivation of liberty;

- if a person is old and receives an old-age pension or for seniority ;

- if a person voluntarily refuses to receive benefits;

- if the person who received the benefit has died.

Thus, unemployment benefits have their own nuances and definitions. The size of the allowance and the further place of work depend on the previous place of work, on the opinion of the person himself and on his qualifications.
