Korzun Sergey Lvovich - a well-known Russian journalist, writer and public figure. Many know him as the founding father of the Echo of Moscow radio station. In addition, Sergey Lvovich is a respected professor-teacher at the Department of Media and Communications at the Higher School of Economics.
Sergey Korzun: biography of early years
The future journalist was born on February 14, 1956 in Moscow. All childhood Sergei passed in the capital of the USSR. Here he studied at the 24th specialized school with in-depth study of the French language. After receiving secondary education in 1978 he entered the Moscow State Pedagogical Institute named after Thoresa at the faculty of French.
It should be noted that Sergei Korzun from a young age showed himself as an active member of society. While studying at the university, he joined the ranks of student construction teams and comprehensively supported their work. He not only fulfilled the tasks assigned to him, but also tried to convey to the people around the ideas of their organization.
In addition, Sergei Korzun moonlighted as an announcer at the USSR State Radio and Television. Initially, it was just a practice that allowed you to master the French language (he conducted broadcasts for the Broadcast). But soon the spirit of journalism completely dominated him, which led to the fact that Korzun remained the speaker of the state company until 1990.
Birth of Echo of Moscow
In early 1990, Sergei Korzun, together with his associates, decided to create a potentially new radio station, Echo of Moscow. In those years, they set themselves only one goal - to convey to the people the whole truth about the situation in the world and their country. And it so happened that their project not only withstood the difficult struggle for broadcasting, but was able to overtake all its competitors.
Nevertheless, in 1996, Sergei Korzun leaves the post of director of the company. This was due to the fact that he saw himself as a freelance journalist rather than the head of such a large-scale organization. But despite his departure, he was active in improving the quality of broadcasting on Ekho Moskvy.
Under his leadership, such programs as Ivanov. Petrov. Sidorov β,β Case β,β Pros and Cons β, as well asβ Face to People β. Some of these projects eventually moved to television, which only strengthened the reputation of a journalist.
A career outside the radio
Since 1996, Sergey Korzun has been actively collaborating with the REN-TV-7 television company. It is here that he brings to life the majority of his first ideas and reports. This leads to the fact that in 1998 he was entrusted with the position of editor-in-chief of the news information block REN-TV. However, a year later he leaves this post, as his vision of the world was fundamentally different from what the channelβs management had.
Between 2001 and 2013 engaged in active journalistic activities on various radio and television channels:
- 2002 - editor on the radio "News Online";
- 2003 - creator and host of the PolitX Internet portal;
- 2004 - own project on NTV "Secrets of intelligence";
- 2007 - general producer of Businness FM station;
- 2009 - Editor-in-Chief of the Voice of Russia, oversaw broadcasting in Latin America and Europe;
- 2010 - one of the main producers of the United Media Company;
- 2013 - the post of chief editor at Network Monitor Media.
Farewell to the Echo of Moscow
In the spring of 2015, Sergei Korzun completely broke all ties with the leadership of the Ekho Moskvy radio station. This was due to the fact that the journalist could not forgive the chief editor Alexei Venediktov for his policy of "censorship". According to him: βThatβ Echo βthat we created in the early 90s has already died - it is not there. Now we are easily sacrificing core values ββfor the benefit of the rating and the wishes of the audience. β
Since 2015, Sergei Korzun has been broadcasting weekly on one of the French radio stations, where he briefly outlines the situation in Russia. In addition, in 2015 he was invited to join the Higher School of Economics as a journalist and teacher at the Faculty of Media, Design and Communications.
