Assigning a certain group of technical workers with respect to electrical safety is a prerequisite that allows them to gain access to the possibility of independent maintenance of working electrical installations. The stated requirement applies equally to persons directly using equipment in their work, but not related to electrical work. They are also certified for electrical safety.

Trained electricians, enterprises, institutions / organizations are divided into the following categories regarding the specifics of classes:

  • administrative and technical personnel;
  • operational staff;
  • repair staff;
  • operational and repair personnel;
  • technological staff of electrified manufacturing departments.

Administrative and technical workers include specialists and managers who are responsible for operational and technical maintenance, installation, various repair and commissioning actions in operating devices, as well as those having certain access groups for electrical safety.

The duties of operational personnel include conducting quick service of devices, which includes switching, inspection procedures, preparing a workplace, providing permission for a craft, and strict supervision. The repair site masters, to whom the electrical safety approval groups are assigned, carry out technical actions and many types of equipment repair, and can also arrange its installation, introduction and testing.

Operational and repair personnel are specialists who have completed the necessary training for working with the installations assigned to them, as evidenced by the electrical safety groups assigned to them. Technological workers participate in specific processes, the main component of which is electric energy (electric welding, electrolysis, electric arc furnaces, etc.).

All representatives of the enterprise personnel are assigned their own electrical safety approval groups. This occurs after a series of the following actions: passing a medical examination, completing a course of study, testing knowledge by passing exams. The group number (from the 1st to the 5th) is affected by work experience, education, acquired information and skills.

  • 1st group - persons who do not have special training, but are employed in jobs where electric shock situations are possible.
  • 2nd group - assigned only after passing the 72-hour program.
  • 3rd group - the passing exam must have experience working with the previous group. He is obliged to fully study the structure and service order of electrical installations, to know the list of requirements for work, to master the basic methods and skills in the practical provision of the basics of first aid.
  • 4th group - for its assignment it is necessary to work out within the previous group for at least 3-6 months. There are also a number of requirements: knowledge of electrical engineering in the volume taught at a vocational school, have a clear idea of ​​the possible dangers in work, own the basic provisions of the Rules of labor protection, PUE, the minimum requirements for fire safety, the provision of emergency protection.
  • 5th group - work with the 4th group for a period of at least 3-24 months. Along with this, it is necessary to know the schemes of working apparatuses, to study the requirements for their operation, fire safety, methods of organizing work, direct management of work in installations, be able to set out requirements for minimizing risks, instructing specialists, be able to teach safety precautions and theoretical and practical skills of PMP.
