CASCO payments: what you need to know

The voluntary insurance contract spells out cases in which the insurer agrees to make insurance payments under CASCO. In the event of such an event, you must immediately contact the support service of your insurance company to register it. Also, if necessary, they will help you call a tow truck.

Next, you should call the emergency commissioner, who will tell you what to do in a particular situation. You also need to immediately call the traffic police, provide your policy data and find out similar information from another participant in an accident (name of the insurance company, policy number, name of the owner or name of the company for which the policy was issued).

To receive payments under "CASCO", you need to provide a certificate drawn up by the traffic police to the insurance company. If your fault in the incident is not obvious, do not sign the protocol, wait for a court decision. If the court finds you guilty, your insurance company will pay compensation to both you and the second party to the incident. If the court decides that the second party was responsible for the accident, then the insurance company should pay compensation for the damage caused to you.

If your car is on the go after an accident, you can come to the insurance company on it to be inspected and photographed. If vice versa, arrange an appointment with an expert at the service station. After determining the damage, filling out all documents, your case will be considered by the insurance company. CASCO payments will be made on time.

If your car is not pledged and your bank has given permission for this, then payments will be made in cash on hand. If the car is purchased at your own expense, then a bank permit is not required. In addition, payments can be made on the account at the service station where the car was repaired. This is also possible with the permission of your bank.

In order to receive CASCO payments, you need to follow a certain procedure, as well as have all the documents (a certificate of an accident, a resolution on an administrative offense or a copy of the protocol if they were not issued to the traffic police). The insurance company needs to get a copy of the document, which indicates the amount of damage and the amount of compensation.

Do not forget to get one copy of the contract for the provision of services for assessing the cost of repairs.

Payments under "CASCO" can be quite substantial, often they are much higher than under "CTP". The maximum amount of such payments is not determined. It is established in the event of complete loss of the car, its theft or loss for another reason (robbery, unlawful actions of third parties, fraudulent actions).

However, indemnification under CASCO is sometimes associated with delaying payments by the insurance company. There may be several reasons for this, among which are the carelessness or lack of literacy of policyholders who do not read the signed contracts. At the same time, avoiding trouble is quite possible if you pay attention to the content of the contract and, if necessary, make appropriate changes to it in your favor.
