Cooking potatoes in Greek: ingredients and a step-by-step recipe

  • young potatoes - 1 kg;
  • bell pepper - 2 pcs. (preferably fresh seasonal);
  • feta cheese - 150 g;
  • leeks - 2 stalks;
  • ghee - 50 g;
  • thyme - 1 bunch;
  • garlic - 3 cloves;
  • salt and ground pepper to taste.

Step by step cooking

The Greek potato recipe is quite simple and does not require special skills. First of all, prepare the main ingredient - potatoes. The fruits must be thoroughly peeled and rinsed. And then cut into thin half rings, and the thickness of each slice should not exceed 3-5 mm. Next, heat the pan with ghee and fry the potatoes until a light golden crust is obtained. It is best to fry the tubers in small portions. If desired, pepper and salt when frying.

  • olive oil - 0.5 teaspoon;
  • parsley - a bunch;
  • spices to taste.

It is advisable to choose new potatoes. Peel and cut all the fruits in half. A baking sheet in which we will bake potatoes in Greek should be covered with foil. Gently spread the slices of vegetable.

  • tomato paste - 3 tbsp. spoons;
  • feta cheese - 200 g;
  • onions - 2 heads;
  • olives - 50 g;
  • olive oil - 3 tbsp. spoons;
  • hot water - 200 ml;
  • dried oregano - 1 tablespoon;
  • spice.

First of all, rinse the potatoes and peel them. After cutting each into 4 parts. After drying the slices, you can use a kitchen towel.

After we chop the onions in half rings, finely chop the garlic. Next, turn on the slow cooker in the "Frying" mode, pour plenty of olive oil into the bowl. After the oil is heated, pour the garlic and onions. Fry a couple of minutes. Add potato wedges to the onion, 2 tsp. oregano, and immediately pour 200 ml of boiling water. After that, switch the machine to the "Extinguishing" mode. Cook with the lid closed for 30 minutes, the slices should reach readiness and become soft.

After 30 minutes, open the lid, add tomato paste. Stew about 10 minutes with the lid open. We lay the finished stew in a bowl, on top of small pieces of cheese, slightly watered with olive oil, sprinkle with a small amount of oregano and everything can be served!
