We are used to call the most bloodthirsty and desperate serial killers maniacs. The atrocities of many of them scare and confuse after decades. Often the bloody glory of such killers scares many generations after their death. This category of criminals includes Valery Asratyan, a sexual maniac who committed his crimes from 1988 to 1990.
Brief biography of the killer
Valery Asratyan was born in Yerevan in 1958 in a complete, prosperous family by all standards. The boy grew up in love and was never subjected to violent acts. However, some deviations in development were noticeable already in preschool age. In kindergarten, he persuaded female peers to play a doctor game, in which he played the role of a specialist, and the patients had to undress and undergo an “examination”. The future maniac began to lead sexual life early and quite actively. However, this did not stop him from graduating from a pedagogical institute, getting married and moving after his wife, a native Muscovite, to the capital.
Crimes of the "Director"
In 1982, Valery Asratyan committed his first rape (the victim was a minor girl), but was immediately caught and sentenced to 2 years. However, a year after his release, the offender commits another rape and comes back again. After serving a second term in places not so remote from the offender, the wife leaves, but he quickly enough begins to cohabit with another woman who has a teenage daughter of 14 years old. Valery Asratyan inclines his stepdaughter to intimacy. Through threats, he forces a new family - a common-law wife and her daughter - to help him commit crimes. In 1988-1990, the maniac came up with a new strategy for committing rape, he met girls on the streets and introduced himself as a film director. Then he invited him to his home for testing and treated him to coffee, in which he mixed potent psychotropic drugs in advance. Fearing capture, the maniac soon began to kill his victims.
Arrest and Sentence
Valery Asratyan is a maniac who, it would seem, thought through everything in advance to the smallest detail. He committed the killings by various methods, with the expectation that it would be impossible to connect them in a single series. However, the operatives staged a "bait hunt", and very soon the murderer suggested that a law enforcement officer should act in films. Once caught again, Asratyan least of all wanted to get into the colony again, since he knew very well how the rapists were treated there. He admitted to having committed three murders and at least 10 rapes. At the trial, the maniac asked for capital punishment - execution, this request was granted. Valery Asratyan received the death penalty, and the sentence was carried out.
