The crisis of 7 years is the next stage in the development of a child’s personality

In the life of every person, whether it be a child or an adult, crises periodically occur. Under the crisis most often refers to the transition from the previous stage to the new in the development of personality.

In a child, a crisis is observed with a change in activity, so very often the cause of its occurrence can be a new interest and need of the child: play, study, etc. Psychologists have traditionally identified several age-related crises in children - newborns, one year, three and seven years. Most often, parents connect the crisis of 7 years with classes in the first grade. After all, it is at this age that they have certain hopes for their child, so he feels responsible for all his actions and results of school.

For the first time at the age of seven, a child has a feeling of conscience, the occurrence of which depends only on the goals of upbringing, originally set by parents. The crisis of 7 years is directly related to mental and social changes occurring with children of this age. The crisis of 7 years of age manifests itself in changes in the behavior of the child and the loss of childish immediacy. During this period, parents in their child may notice some kind of artificial and pretended behavior, because it is the younger students who begin to imitate adults.

Parents should take any manifestations of the crisis seriously, since neglect can have a very bad effect on the student’s performance, which is the result of his carelessness, low self-esteem, and in some cases neurosis sometimes develops. Therefore, caring parents in such a period of their child's life should strongly support him and help him.

The crisis in a 7-year-old child is characterized by the manifestation of irritability and causeless anger almost every day. At this age, children are more and more tired of the same activities for some time. That is why it is so important to properly prepare your child for school, which can greatly alleviate the crisis of 7 years. Today, there are many preparatory classes aimed at adapting the child to school activities.

The carelessness, impulsiveness and immediacy of a seven-year-old child are being replaced by the intellectual motivation of their actions and reflections on the consequences of any of their actions. He is already able to understand his emotions and feelings, which form his self-esteem and self-esteem. All these psychological neoplasms, to which school attendance and demands from adults are added, cause a crisis of 7 years.

In most cases, the child himself is able to overcome all the difficulties of this age and get out of the crisis, but nevertheless, the well-being and condition of the child in this period of his life also largely depend on the parents. You should never interfere in the affairs of the child with the offer of his help, if he does not ask. Experts argue that there is no more effective help from parents than non-intervention. In raising children of 7 years of age, it is important to let them feel all the consequences of their actions or absolute inaction on their part.

With the first visits to school, you must be interested in the success of your child, but it is important to understand that at this moment it is not his achievements in studies that are important for him, but new acquaintances and emerging interests. Therefore, questions about school subjects and grades should preferably be postponed to a more appropriate time. For the formation of the personality of a 7-year-old child, the emergence of an overestimated self-esteem plays a very important role and is very bad if it is underestimated. Here the child is able to help parents and loved ones who will in every way praise and encourage him.

The child’s confidence that he is loved and needed by his parents will help him easily overcome the crisis of 7 years of age.
