There are a lot of soft drinks in our time. But the recipe for many of them is very doubtful. A lot of food additives of chemical origin obviously will not benefit our health. And here we should turn to history, to the drinks that our ancestors consumed for many centuries - sbitnits, fruit drinks and kvass. After all, our ancestors were more enduring than modern people. This was facilitated by good ecology, constant physical activity, as well as healthy food and drink. And about whether kvass is useful, says the very method of its preparation. After all, it is based on fermentation, in which live bacteria participate. They, getting into our stomach along with kvass, contribute to better absorption of food and the removal of harmful toxins from the body.
According to historical sources, at least 500 recipes for this healthy drink were previously known. It was made from mountain ash and mint, beets and millet, currants and raspberries, and other natural products. Today, too, you can easily cook, for example, kvass from oats. After all, this cereal is used not only for making oatmeal or as a horse feed. Oats grain and straw have healing properties and are widely used in folk medicine and in various diets.
Well, making kvass from oats is very simple. It is necessary to take a half-liter jar of this grain, rinse it well several times and fill it in a three-liter jar. There, you should add boiled and cooled to room temperature water, add 3-4 tablespoons of sugar and a dozen raisins washed with warm water. The jar is covered with gauze folded in several layers and placed in the sun or just in a warm place.
And after 3-4 days, this drink will be ready to drink. Ready kvass from oats is drained and put in the refrigerator. They can not only quench their thirst. Oat kvass is useful for cleaning the liver, strengthening immunity and even treating tumors. And the remaining yeast can be used up to four times. Just every time you need to add sugar to it and pour it with cooled boiling water. And with each subsequent tab, the amount of sugar should be reduced by one tablespoon.
By a similar principle, you can make not only kvass from oats. Other cereals, such as millet, are suitable for this. To prepare such a drink, you need to fill two glasses of this cereal in a three-liter jar. There you should put three tablespoons of sugar and a few crusts of brown bread. Then the contents of the jar are poured with warm water, and this yeast is put in a dark place for 2-3 days. Kvass can be considered ready for use when bubbles appear on its surface. This drink well cleanses the pancreas and liver. You can also add decoctions of various herbs (chamomile, clover, mint) to it. At the same time, kvass not only gets a new taste, but also enhances its healing properties.
In our temperate climate, a tree such as horse chestnut grows. It blooms beautifully in the spring, and in the fall its fruits simply fall off and the wipers and their leaves are thrown into the trash. But these, at first glance, useless fruits have many healing properties. And they can be used not only in medicine.
And now about how to make kvass from these fruits. To do this, take 30-40 chestnuts and cut them into pieces together with the peel. Then they are thrown into a jar, add a glass of sugar and half a glass of whey for the sourdough. All this is poured with well water and left in a warm room for two weeks. As a result of such actions, a drink with a pleasant taste is obtained. You can still add various plants to it - hops, caraway seeds, dill, coriander, pepper, blackcurrant leaves and others. This kvass strengthens the body and improves immunity, and you can drink it as much as you like. And itβs best to do this half an hour before a meal. Then a glass of chestnut kvass will bring the most tangible effect.
