Lada C-Cross is a car that is a joint development of our AtoVAZ OJSC, as well as a Canadian company called Magna International, which provides a series of cars for this project.
About the premiere
The presentation show of such a model as the Lada C-Cross took place in 2008. The event was held at the International Motor Show in Moscow. This car combines the qualities of an SUV and the benefits of a conventional city comfortable car. The model is quite compact. Its dimensions are very modest - 4410 mm in length, 1812 mm in width, and also 1557 mm in height. The curb weight of this machine is 1370 kilograms. The trunk can also not be called particularly roomy - 350 liters.
But the car is spacious inside (for passengers), comfortable and very dynamic. This car is perfect for our Russian roads. And while this model has good characteristics, allowing it to easily cope with impassability. This quality was endowed with short overhangs, solid ground clearance and large 18-inch wheels, which provide excellent geometric cross-country ability. In general, this car immediately shows that it was created by Russian developers specifically for the roads of our mighty Federation.
2015 New
At the end of June last, 2014, the Russian AvtoVAZ finally discovered the basic information regarding the new representative of the C-Cross class. The general public saw the car Lada C-Cross in August last year. An all-terrain wagon, distinguished by the appearance of an SUV, was published that same fall.
The main feature that was noticed by everyone right away is the increased ground clearance. Ground clearance brought to 18 centimeters! This was possible thanks to the installation of 15-inch wheels, as well as the reconfiguration of the suspension. In addition, the new VAZ SUV received a protective body kit made of plastic, other bumpers, an improved radiator grille, large moldings and, without fail, factory underbody protection.
Transformed Interior
Some changes also affected the interior. The interior is a very important part of any car. “Lada” is an SUV that, according to stereotypes, is not comfortable or especially attractive. However, looking inside the cabin, you can see that this is really just a prejudice. Inside, everything is done quite stylishly and attractively. The developers have tried to create an atmosphere of coziness and comfort.
So, in the new product there were catchy changes. Although not very big. Now, potential buyers are offered several different design options with bright original color inserts. Choose from either yellow or orange. With these inserts, door panels and a central steering wheel are now formed. Also, a certain part of the upholstery of the chairs is made out under their color. Even the developers made a promise to thoroughly work on the level of sound insulation. Still, it is imperfect, and it is worth finalizing it to a more acceptable level. After all, this is an SUV.
Specifications
So, the Lada C-Cross car, the price of which starts from an amount approaching half a million rubles, can be equipped with one of two proposed powerplant options. “Junior” is a 4-cylinder in-line engine running on gasoline. Its volume is 1.6 liters. 8 valves, timing, plus everything - distributed fuel injection. This motor can develop power of 87 horsepower. This power unit operates under the control of a 5-speed manual gearbox. This model accelerates to “hundred” in 12.7 seconds. The maximum speed available for this off-road vehicle is 165 km / h. It is expected that in the combined cycle the machine will not spend more than seven liters of fuel. This is its plus. The developers tried to create a car that almost every second resident of our country could afford. And counted on its profitability.
And the “older” option is another power unit, better known to the people. The volume, however, is the same - 1.6 liters. Only it is not eight, but 16-valve. And the power will be more - 106 “horses”. And he can work not only under the control of mechanics. In addition to this option, potential buyers may also be offered a model aggregated by a brand new “robot” from AvtoVAZ. A great option for lovers of a comfortable and carefree ride.
Suspension
This is the last nuance that I would like to discuss. The suspension received new shock absorber settings (especially for an all-terrain vehicle), other pillar supports, improved silent blocks and a modified steering. Transformations were necessary, as they increased the wheelbase. Even the course of the steering rack was reduced. Therefore, the turning radius increased to 5.5 meters from 5.2. This “pseudo-crossover” will be front-wheel drive, however, developers are considering creating an all-wheel drive car. And then - it will be for those people who want to become owners of the top model.
The minimum price is about 486,000 rubles (with an 87-horsepower engine) and 496,000 with a 106-horsepower. Sales started in the autumn of last year, so those who wish can already buy a car.
