The term “corporate social responsibility” appeared in our vocabulary simultaneously with the word “globalization”. And this is no coincidence. If you think about the meaning of words, the first term is an objective consequence arising from the second. A corporation is an association of individuals functioning independently of them. This word means a large enterprise with many branches in one country or around the world. The candle factory of Father Fedor will not be called a corporation.
Globalization is a process run by corporations. If you forget about corporate social responsibility for the consumption of resources, the planet will soon become unsuitable for living. It would be a mistake to assert that socially corporate responsibility is the prerogative of only large organizations. Any enterprise making a profit is responsible to the company for the results of its activities. It's just that everyone has a different level of responsibility. It is unfair to demand from the recently organized small enterprise some global projects. But it is obliged to pay wages, taxes, and comply with labor safety requirements.
The company has grown, gained momentum, expanded - social corporate responsibility has moved to the second level. The time has come to take care of those who contributed to the expansion of the business - the employees. It is necessary to create good conditions not only for work, but also for rest, restoration of a full-fledged workforce, for advanced training, for providing normal housing conditions (if the company is interested in retaining experienced qualified personnel).
If an enterprise has crossed the line of local significance, social third-level corporate responsibility sets in. At this stage, the company is expected to charity in any direction useful to society. At a time when humanity came to the threshold of survival of the species, compliance with the principles of CSR is not only concern for society, but ultimately about ourselves and our loved ones.
