Soda water: description, method of preparation

Soda water is a type of soda, prepared by adding carbon dioxide to plain water . It is introduced into bottles under pressure under certain conditions, which leads to a high gas content in them, so if you shake the bottle before opening it, the water sprays everything around.

Gasification can be carried out in two ways:

1. Mechanical - the introduction of carbon dioxide into the liquid using special devices (siphons, saturators, acratophores), pre-cool the liquid and remove air from it. In this way, mineral and fruit waters, sparkling wines are prepared.

2. Chemical method - the liquid is aerated when interacting with carbon dioxide or drinking soda in combination with acid. So they prepare spectator water called soda, bread kvass, champagne, cider and so on.

It should be noted that soda can be prepared at home by saturating water with carbon dioxide or adding soda to it on the tip of a knife, quenched with a few drops of vinegar. And although soda water does not turn out quite like soda, it will taste good.

In our time, its creation involves the use of various flavors and fragrances. Such drinks are very popular because they do not taste soda. And some of them contain sodium or preservatives.

Consider how to make soda at home:

First you need to pour one pack of yeast into warm water and set aside for a while (until bubbles begin to appear). Then one cup of sugar is dissolved in water, boiled and cooled to room temperature, after which yeast is added, poured into a bottle and sealed. Yeast, eating sugar, will produce carbon dioxide, the amount of which will increase until the formation of an effervescent soda yield.

After a few days, it is necessary to open the bottle and release some of the air so that it does not explode under pressure. After three days, soda water is ready to drink.

Many use a special machine for its manufacture. In this case, first of all, it is necessary to fill the bottle with water, add soda, then insert it into the machine and press the button several times to introduce carbonate into it.

Various mixed alcoholic beverages are prepared from such water, for example, whiskey or scotch tape with soda, as well as non-alcoholic ones that give vigor and strength. Quite often, parents mix the children with juice and soda (in equal proportions), they get a carbonated drink with a low content of sugar and calories.

Regular soda is slightly different from soda, although both drinks have good taste and are effervescent. The latter, in addition to carbon dioxide, contains other additives. Most often, baking soda and acid are added to it, which can be harmful to human health, while carbonated water is simple water saturated with only one carbon dioxide.

Regularly using soda, it is necessary to remember that it does not have nutritional value, since it does not contain vitamins and nutrients that are needed for the body. The acid and sodium bicarbonate contained in it contribute to the leaching of calcium from the bones (tooth enamel worsens), and also harm the digestive tract. Also, soda water increases the risk of obesity, diabetes, contributes to the appearance and development of cellulite.

Thus, spectator water, or soda, as a result of a technological process, does not bring any benefit to human health. In order to cook it, you need to mix components such as water, salt, acid and baking soda in a special machine. But it should be remembered that regular consumption of it can lead to disruption of the endocrine system and gastrointestinal tract.
