Rules for the operation of electrical installations

Among people whose profession is associated with the repair of electrical equipment, one can often hear the statement that the rules on labor protection during the operation of electrical installations are written in blood. Although this sounds unpleasant, it really is, of course, in a figurative sense. The life of a person depends on compliance with the operating rules. The minimum required knowledge is the following: a system of categories of service personnel, groups of access to electrical equipment, the existing system of work orders (sometimes the order of filling in forms is changed), the use of protective equipment, and the frequency of checking tools used for work. The distance to the conductive parts is normalized depending on the voltage. The labor protection also includes a list of persons who for one reason or another are prohibited from working with a particular electrical installation.

Safety rules for the operation of electrical installations in full are given in a special document or, if you like, a list of rules, with the abbreviation PBEEP. It indicates personal protective equipment against personal injury due to electric shock; describes the tool by which work is permitted; the need for mandatory certification of foreign equipment is argued. Note that we are talking not only about the implementation of repair work, but also about the usual current operation. PBEEP involves the use of electrical equipment with voltages up to 220 kW.

Rules for the operation of electrical installations are an essential part of theoretical and industrial training of specialists. It is mandatory to read the material, indicate the sources where you can familiarize yourself with the topic in more detail. When hiring and subsequent testing of knowledge, questions are asked without fail, the answers to which are given by the rules for the operation of electrical installations.

In general, the PTEC rules occupy an entire book. For engineering personnel, it is usually desktop, as there are often times that need clarification. The operating rules of electrical installations in the current edition take into account a number of factors:

- technical documents and regulations based on the collected experience of operating existing equipment;

- the current legislative framework (after all, substantial changes are sometimes made to this paragraph);

- approved state standards and norms.

Rules for the operation of electrical installations are created, approved and disseminated by the Ministry of Energy. Mandatory in all relevant industry. Since the central authority is involved in the development, the recommendations of institutions, organizations and ordinary consumers are taken into account. In this case, the rule is true: "What has already happened once, under a certain set of circumstances will be repeated."

It is particularly noteworthy that these rules are not comprehensive. When performing work in existing electrical installations, maintenance personnel must comply not only with them, but also take into account existing current state standards, building codes (SNiP) and the instructions of the “bible for electricians” - PUE (electrical installation rules).

All existing regulatory and technical documentation, in which there are sections, paragraphs indicating the features and rules of operation of electrical installations, must necessarily comply with the current (current) code of rules for PTEEP. When studying any issue, it must be remembered that no direct indication or recommendation should be contrary to the Safety Rules of the Safety and Management System. Otherwise, there is a violation and work with such an electrical installation can (and should) be stopped.
