Many luxury SUVs in terms of equipment and performance are close to representative sedans, and therefore are often used instead. However, some consumers are not enough even at this level, they need something more. For them, automakers are developing special versions. The following are modifications to Range Rover: Autobiography, SVAutobiography Dynamic, and SVAutobiography.
General Features
Range Rover is a full-size luxury SUV, which is the flagship model of Land Rover. It differs from most analogs in high passability and traditional frame construction.
History
This car has been manufactured for over 45 years. During this time, three generations have changed. The first Range Rover was produced from 1970 to 1996 with the prefix to the name Classic. The second generation (P38A) appeared two years before the cessation of production of the first, that is, in 1994. It was produced until 2002. The third generation (L322) was replaced immediately in 2002. The car was created by BMW. This is where the Range Rover Autobiography version first appeared.
The fourth generation (L405) is produced since 2012. The machine also has a version of "Autobiography". In addition to it, the Range Rover in 2017 developed a modification of SVAutobiography Dynamic.
Body
L405, like the two previous generations, are presented exclusively in the body of a 5-door station wagon. Only the first Range Rover had a 3-door option.
The considered versions have slight differences in the elements of the body and interior, but always Range Rover cars are recognizable on the road. Options "Autobiography", for example, has only a special grille and logo on the tailgate.
SVAutobiography Dynamic features dual tailpipes, a contrasting roof, special ventilation grilles for the bumper and front fenders, exterior mirror trim, and a logo.
SVAutobiography also has a special grille and logos.
An extended body is also available for the SVAutobiography and Autobiography versions. The Range Rover with a regular body has dimensions: 4.999 X 2.073 X 1.853 m. The wheelbase is 2.922 m. The elongated version is longer (5.2 m), height (1.84 m), wheelbase (3.12 m )
Engine
L405 is equipped with four engines: gasoline and diesel V6 and V8 with the same fuel. Of these, only eight-cylinder options are available for the car in the "Autobiography" version. Range Rover SVAutobiography Dynamic and SVAutobiography equip the boosted gasoline V8.
448DT is a 4.4 liter diesel eight-cylinder engine equipped with a turbine. It develops 339 hp at 3500 rpm and 700 Nm at 3000 rpm.
508PS is a 5 liter eight-cylinder petrol engine equipped with a supercharger. Has a power of 510 hp at 6500 rpm, torque - 625 Nm at 5500 rpm. On SVAutobiography Dynamic and SVAutobiography they set it up to 550 hp. and 680 Nm version.
Transmission
All L405 are equipped with an 8-speed automatic transmission. The drive is full permanent.
Chassis
Both car suspensions are independent multi-link on pneumatic elements. The chassis of the SVAutobiography Dynamic is retuned, due to which the ground clearance is reduced by 8 mm. In Autobiography and SVAutobiography, clearance can vary from 228 to 303 mm.
Each equipment has 21-inch wheels with a special design. This is Style 101 for the Autobiography version. Range Rover SVAutobiography Dynamic is equipped with Style 505 discs, and SVAutobiography is equipped with Style 706 discs.
SVAutobiography Dynamic has Brembo brakes with red calipers.
Interior
Each of the versions under consideration is distinguished by the features of the trim. For seat upholstery, semi-aniline leather is used.
Autobiography has a panoramic sunroof, special stitching, floor mats, door sills and ceiling upholstery. It is also equipped with an entertainment system for the back row with remote control and a touch monitor, 4-zone climate control. Finally, a massage function and much more is available as an option for the front seats.
SVAutobiography Dynamic is distinguished by a diamond-shaped stitching of the seats, black lacquered wood inserts, a red line on the door inserts, and pedals with grooved trim. Perforated leather ceiling . The standard equipment includes electronic assistants (systems of retention in the strip, recognition of signs, control of driver fatigue, speed limiter).
SVAutobiography as a standard has all seats with massage function, as well as a 1700 W Meridian audio system with 28 speakers, perforated leather ceiling, extendable tables, in addition to the same assistants as SVAutobiography Dynamic, adaptive cruise control and all-round cameras can be noted. The interior is decorated with a company logo and corrugated trim. A special rear row is installed on the car with a footrest and a center console, into which a refrigerated compartment can optionally be built.
Driving performance
Since Autobiography has the same technical specifications as conventional Range Rover versions with similar engines, its dynamic performance is identical: acceleration to 100 km / h takes 6.9 s for the diesel version and 5.5 s for the gasoline, and the maximum speed is 218 and 250 km / h, respectively.
Despite the fact that the other two versions under consideration are equipped with a boosted engine, the manufacturer indicates the same dynamic data for them as for Autobiography. Although other sources have information that they are faster in acceleration by about 0.5 s.
Differences in the behavior of the extended version of the Range Rover Autobiography are very significant. A test drive indicates that the car was retuned for comfort, making the suspension softer, and the accelerator reactions smoother.
SVAutobiography Dynamic, on the contrary, should have a more sporty behavior, thanks to the retuned chassis.
Cost
The cheapest among the considered versions of Range Rover is Autobiography, the price of which starts from 8.538 million rubles. The starting cost of SVAutobiography Dynamic is 2.002 million more. Acquisition of SVAutobiography requires 1.111 million more.
