Protective hood "Phoenix" - a device for protecting the human respiratory system. It is an individual protective agent and is intended for independent exit from areas where poisoning by chemical and other harmful substances is possible, as well as to counter combustion products.
The protective hood "Phoenix" is different in that it has minimized dimensions and weight. Moreover, it is able to simultaneously protect against 20 types of various chemicals that are dangerous to humans.
Description
The Phoenix self-rescuer of the base model is a hood with overall dimensions of 465 x 380 mm. It is made of a durable and non-combustible polyamide transparent film. The lower part of the hood is equipped with a glued collar, which is made of elastic rubber. It has an opening for placement in the hood of the head, followed by sealing with a cord in the neck.
The universal dimensions of the Phoenix hood make its use convenient for people with various parameters of the human head. Moreover, the presence of a beard, mustache, long hairstyles, glasses does not matter.
On the front of the hood, in the vicinity of the mouth, a filtering and absorbing element is fixed.
Self Rescuer Features
The shelf life of the Phoenix hood, provided that it is in the standard vacuum packaging, is five years. Its weight is approaching 200 grams.
The materials of the Phoenix self-rescue hood are resistant to ignition, they do not burn when exposed to temperatures up to 800 ° C. The hood is resistant to dangerous gas aerosol mixtures, the permeability coefficient for them is less than 2%.
The self-rescue hood "Phoenix" provides protection against harmful influences within 20 minutes.
It effectively protects against hazardous gases (substances), namely:
- Group A (acetonitriles, acroleins, benzene structures, acrylonitriles, methyl bromide compounds, methyl mercaptans, methyl acrylate suspensions, ethyl mercaptans, chloropicrin ethylene sulfide, cyclohexanes, organophosphorus substances);
- groups AH - acroleins;
- Group B (hydrogen sulfide, carbon disulfide suspensions, chlorine compounds, arsenic hydrogen, hydrocyanic acid, phosgene);
- Group E (hydrogen chloride, sulfur dioxide, hydrogen fluoride, hydrogen bromide);
- group K (ammonia, trimethylamines, dimethylamines).
Equipment
The standard package of the Phoenix self-rescuer hood includes a gas mask, which is a front part made of polyamide film. Its shape is created in the form of a cap that covers the entire head of a person. It is also equipped with a nose clip.
On the front part there is a neck obturator made of rubber with non-combustible properties. In the hood cover are integrated:
- sealing neck cord;
- filtering and absorbing element (box with a sealing cuff).
The kit also includes:
- soft antiaerosol filter equipped with a spring;
- exhalation valve with silicone pad;
- silicone mouthpiece.
The instruction (product passport) is attached to the self-rescuer. It is located in a vacuum package and is placed in a plastic bag designed for carrying.
Comparison with other analogues
The peculiarity of Phoenix lies in the fact that, having a small mass and volume, in comparison with other Russian and foreign products of a similar class, it demonstrates much higher properties when protected from various substances. So three times better, it protects a person when exposed to organic substances; from three to ten times - in an environment with acid gases; more than one and a half times - when a person is in the atmosphere with ammonia compounds.
Phoenix is the only domestic filtering self-rescuer that has experimentally confirmed its high efficiency in protecting against combustion products and biological agents.
Practice shows that if a sudden emergency occurs, then only funds that are nearby can protect a person. And they can be applied immediately. The Phoenix self-rescuer in this case is the best option. It can be carried in pockets, in any bags, stored in cars, desktops, etc.
The small size of "Phoenix" allows you to organize their storage centrally without creating any special places (premises). This is especially true for hotels, supermarkets, gyms, educational institutions, railway and public urban transport, subway cars, etc.
The benefits of a protective hood
In addition to the declared parameters and small dimensions, the self-rescuer has the following advantages:
- When applied, it does not require selection and adjustment, can be used by any person over the age of 7 years.
- Simple design provides usability. It does not require any special training for people in the rules of its application. You just need to read the attached instructions. Phoenix hood manufacturers also make training samples, which are packaged in yellow cases. They are intended for training, as well as for use in various educational processes.
- The materials of which the Phoenix hood is made are harmless and do not adversely affect the human body or the environment. Their disposal is carried out independently without observing any safety conditions.
- Phoenix hoods that have expired are accepted for disposal by the manufacturer. Moreover, more favorable conditions are usually offered for the delivery of new ones.
Phoenix 2
Currently, a new modified model has been added to the existing self-rescuer. Its name is the “Phoenix -2” hood. It differs from the base model in the increased action time, which is at least 60 minutes.
Structural changes were also made to the case, which allows to reduce the time the Phoenix-2 is put into working condition. In particular, it becomes convenient to provide protection for a longer period of exposure to chemical contamination.
The weight of the Phoenix-2 self-rescuer has been slightly increased; it is 250 grams in a standard package.
