Heavy motorcycles appeared in the USSR in the thirties. The first model - the M-72 with a sidecar - was a real breakthrough. And when the K750 was developed after it, the motorcycle was even more perfect, the Soviet society got an occasion to be proud of the achievements of the auto and motor industry. The model was really successful: speed and traction characteristics reached the level of the best world standards. K750, a motorcycle advanced enough for that time and having a certain perspective, was produced by the Kiev Motorcycle Plant. Later, production was established in the city of Irbit. A four-speed gearbox transmitted rotation to the rear drive wheel by means of a cardan shaft, which contributed to a more smooth ride than a chain transmission.
All wheels were equipped with drum brakes, quite effective and reliable. The K-750 is a motorcycle well-suited for long-distance travel: a gas tank with a capacity of 20 liters made it possible to travel 350 kilometers without refueling. The popularity of the machine was also facilitated by its availability in terms of current adjustments during operation. All the necessary points were completely open. In addition, the K750, a motorcycle with an impressive smoothness of motion, moved uniformly in all road conditions without any jerks that distinguished almost all Soviet motorcycles.

K750 motorcycles were popular in the Ministry of Internal Affairs: a significant number of them entered the service in police departments, where they were used as patrol vehicles. Cars designed to work in the internal security system were yellow with a blue inscription "police" on the side of the stroller. The engines of police motorcycles were boosted at the factory, their power increased to 27 liters. sec., and the speed under such a motor increased to 105 km / h. Private ownership
In the Soviet period, the government did not spoil the population with either motorbikes or cars. The K750 motorcycle also came exclusively to government agencies, army units, bodies of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and various specialized services; in hunting farms and sanctuaries for rangers and foresters. However, in the early seventies, a mass write-off of the K750 from the army and police units was carried out. And since motorcycles had nowhere to put, and it was not allowed to be disposed of, almost all decommissioned copies went on sale and were bought by private individuals in a short time.
The K750 motorcycle, reviews of which began to arrive immediately after the acquisition by its new owners, gained even greater popularity. Buyers noted the super reliability of all units, relatively inexpensive maintenance and the availability of any spare parts for sale. In private hands, the car was able to reveal all its best qualities - care and respectful attitude did their job.
