A fairly well-known and often used remedy is bard liquid. This substance is able to destroy not only bacteria, but also fungi. This tool has been widely used in the cultivation of grapes. It is used mainly to combat diseases such as mildew, anthracnose, black rot, melanosis, etc.
The active substance, which contains bard liquid, are copper compounds. They are slightly soluble in water, which contributes to long-term protection of plants.
The chemical composition of the bard mixture has some features. It is nothing but a mixture of copper sulphate with lime. Bard liquid, the preparation of which is a simple process, is an effective means of combating plant diseases.
To properly prepare bardovy liquid, it is necessary to observe the following proportions. So, if we take
copper sulfate and lime in a ratio of 2: 1, we get different compounds of copper salts. When the ratio is 1: 1, CaSO4 and CuSO4 compounds are formed. With a lack of lime in the liquid,
copper sulfate remains free, and as a result, the mixture has an acidic environment. The use of such a solution will lead to the appearance of
chemical burns in plants.
Therefore, the optimal ratio of copper sulfate and lime is 4: 3. In the cooking process, 2 separate containers must be used to dilute the components of the mixture. Constantly stirring, slowly, slowly pour the prepared solution of copper sulfate into lime in a thin stream. In order for the bard liquid not to react with the metal, it is not recommended to prepare it in an iron container.
After receiving the solution, it is used immediately. Before this, it is necessary to check the reaction of the solution with special test indicators. It should be either neutral or slightly alkaline. Otherwise, there is a chance to destroy the plant by treating it with an acid solution, which will lead to chemical burns.
The prepared bard liquid, the use of which helps fight plant diseases, also has its drawbacks. Frequent use of this tool can inhibit the plant. So, for example, in grapes there is a decrease in the growth rate of shoots. The way out of this situation is the use of organic fungicides. Their composition excludes the presence of copper.
From the above it follows that bard liquid is an indispensable tool for treating plants. The process of preparing it is very simple and will not take much time. The relatively low cost of this fluid brings it to one of the first places in the fight against plant diseases.
