A faucet with a thermostat that has ceased to be a curiosity

In the conditions of our time, a mixer with a thermostat becomes indispensable when you need to automatically adjust the water temperature. With its help, it will be possible to save precious time by providing a quick supply of water of the desired temperature. However, this device in our country is perceived by many people as a foreign exotic. Gradually, the number of admirers is growing, since the comfortable adoption of water procedures largely depends on this particular device. Thus, bathtub faucets with a thermostat are beginning to gradually gain popularity. In addition to providing maximum comfort, safety is also guaranteed (the possibility of burns is virtually eliminated).

Thermostatic mixer
Any mixer with a thermostat is controlled by two regulators, one of which controls the temperature of the water, and the other sets the pressure. The difference from conventional analogues is the presence of a thermostatic element. At the same time, no electronics are used in the design. The thermostat carries out its actions based on simple physical principles. Inside is a special substance that reduces or increases the volume (depending on temperature). Such devices, by the way, help to conserve natural resources.

Of course, the lack of electrical power to the thermostat can be attributed to the advantages, but this design requires a quality installation. If you mix the cranes in places, then certain problems will arise. Then the mixer with thermostat will not work correctly. According to European standards, cold water is supposed to be supplied on the right and hot water on the left. In Soviet times, the reverse scheme was used, which is found today (not only in old houses!). In this case, for European models, you will have to swap the eyeliner, which, in principle, is quite feasible.

Mixers with thermostat
Most often, faucets with a thermostat as a thermocouple have a sealed capsule in which artificial wax is located. Responding to temperature conditions, it regulates the ratio of hot and cold water. Recently, a thermoelement from a bimetallic spring has become widespread. In this case, two different metals react to temperature fluctuations. When heated, the spring expands, and when cooled, it compresses. Due to this property, it is possible to obtain the necessary proportions of cold and hot water. Sometimes bimetallic rings act as a thermocouple, working approximately on the same principle as a spring of two metals.

The mixer with thermostat can be built-in or external. The first type is most interesting from an aesthetic point of view, because installation can be done in a finished box in a niche. After that, you just need to bring all communications and close the cavity with a decorative panel. The built-in part of the same manufacturer itself has standard sizes and is equipped with decorative overlays. As for the models of the external type, their design is very diverse, so without much difficulty it will turn out to choose the right option.
