Recently, a steady trend towards the universalization of martial arts has been observed throughout the world. All this led to the fact that the so-called mixed martial arts were especially popular among sports fans . The main difference from classical martial arts is that they widely use both the shock technical arsenal and wrestling actions. Each fighter himself is free to choose which style to give preference during the battle. The Russian mixed martial arts school has given the sports world many wonderful fighters. One of them, the Dagestani fighter Magomed Magomedov, will be discussed in this article.
Childhood
It has long been so common that in Dagestan, sport number one is a struggle. Despite all attempts to create a soccer super club from Makhachkala “Anji” with the involvement of world-famous stars, various martial arts occupy a dominant place in the life of any resident of this small republic.
On December 25, 1991, in the small Dagestan town of Khasavyurt, the future champion Magomedov Magomed Zhamaludinovich was born. Almost all Dagestan teenagers are engaged in wrestling in childhood. For some, this remains just a childhood hobby, someone carries a love of this sport through life. So it happened with Magomed. The teenager's excellent athletic performance was visible to the naked eye. With a relatively small growth, Magomed already in his teens had an excellent physique. Parents also did not mind their son’s sports interests.
First steps in sports
At the age of twelve, Magomed was in a sports boarding school "Five cardinal points", specializing in various types of martial arts. The first mentor of a promising junior was Alexander Buryak, a cult figure for the Dagestan sport. It was this trainer who brought up not one strong athlete. And the fact that Magomed Magomedov got to this coach was an undoubted success, an opportunity for further sports growth. Just under the leadership of Alexander Buryak, the first sports successes came to Magomed. A number of victories were obtained at the regional level, the young athlete began to reach the Russian level. Already then, at a young age, enough for an athlete, sports specialists noted a rather aggressive manner of fighting, an acutely attacking style of a guy. They said that Magomed Magomedov is a tiger. This nickname was fixed for the guy and was the best suited for him, characterized his style of combat.
Sports career
Real fame came to Magomed Magomedov in 2012. By that time, a twenty-one-year-old athlete was training under the leadership of Rasul Arslanbekov. A victory was won at the championship of Russia in mixed martial arts. This success did not pass by the coaches of the Russian national team. In the same 2012, already Magomed Magomedov - a debutant fighter of the European championship. And again a triumph: the young representative of the national team becomes the champion of Europe in mixed martial arts.
Professional sport
Success at the amateur level did not go unnoticed in the professional environment of mixed martial arts. And a year after the triumph at the European championship, in 2013, the Fighting Eagls club, speaking in the M-1 Global series, signs a full-fledged professional contract with a promising athlete. The debut in the M-1 took place on February 27, 2013. The rival of Magomed Magomedov was the Polish athlete Damian Stasyak. The fight ended in a confident victory for the Russian athlete.
Another coach appeared in the coaching staff of Magomedov. They became Marat Gafurov. Magomedov's professional career is very successful. In the following fights, our athlete defeated such fighters as the Ukrainians Anton Vasilyev and Arthur Kashcheev, the Brazilians Yuri Maya and Bruno Diaz, the Georgians Paata Robakidze. As a result, Magomed Magomedov won the right to fight for the interim champion title in ACB lightweight title. The rival of Magomedov was Russian Peter Yan. Hard struggle did not work. By the decision of all three judges, the victory was unanimously awarded to Magomed Magomedov.
Prospects
If we analyze the average age of the current champions in mixed martial arts, we can notice a curious detail: these are mainly athletes who are already thirty years old. And such globally recognized stars as Werdum, Cormier, Lawler and at all became champions closer to the age of forty. Given the age that is young enough for mixed martial arts (Magomed is currently only 24 years old), we can safely say that the career of Magomed Magomedov in the professional ring is only just beginning. And the level of results, shown now, gives hope for a large number of victories. So there is no doubt, Magomed Magomedov is a fighter who has great prospects, and the title of interim champion is far from the last in his career.
