Orenburg is a fairly large city with a large number of cultural and recreational facilities. But still its residents do not have all the desired leisure activities. For example, until recently there was no own water attraction center in the city. The nearest large aqua complex with slides and related entertainment is located in Magnitogorsk. Rumors and news that a new water park in Orenburg will appear soon will excite the public for a long time. Is it true?
Century construction
The construction of a new large shopping and entertainment center (at 71 Salmyshskaya Street) was started several years ago. The complex is striking in its scale. It is here that the first water park in Orenburg should open, as well as hypermarkets, shops, a cinema with several halls, catering establishments and other shopping and entertainment venues. The name of the complex is “Whale”, the water attraction park located in it will be referred to as “Tortuga”.
Water park project
The water entertainment center will be located on two floors. On its territory, visitors will have access to: 13 pools, 5 adult slides, a children's play area. A unique water park in Orenburg can be called from a structural point of view. For the sake of saving usable area inside the building, some of the slopes are outside its perimeter. The facade of the building, braided by multi-colored giant pipes, looks especially bright and unusual. Inside, in addition to the entertainment area, there will also be saunas, cafes, changing rooms, showers and left-luggage offices. Waterpark "Tortuga" (Orenburg) will become the largest and most modern in the entire Volga Federal District. All residents of the Orenburg region, as well as neighboring regions, are looking forward to putting this facility into operation.
New water park in Orenburg: when is the opening?
Initially, they promised to commission a new water attraction center by the spring of 2014. Then the dates were postponed to the summer, and later to the year 2015 altogether. During this time, the contractor changed, various reasons for the postponement of the commissioning date were announced. The latest promises to open Tortuga date back to 2016. According to one version, in the middle of construction there were problems with the foundation pouring, and a significant part of the work had to be redone; according to another, there were identified flaws in the project of the complex. There are other explanations for the violation of deadlines: financing problems and instability of the foreign exchange market. The latest version seems to be one of the most realistic, since almost all the equipment of the interior space of the complex will be manufactured in Europe. Today, we can say that long-term construction is slowly but surely transforming. And this means that it is too early for Tortuga to be included in the list of unrealized large-scale projects.
Expected prices and conditions of visit
Water entertainment park should become a super-modern complex designed for families. A variety of attractions for adults and children will not let a guest of any age get bored. The complex will offer additional services, today it is known for sure that in Tortug it will be possible to take a steam bath in the sauna, have a snack and visit the spa. The owners of the water park hope that the townspeople will like this place, and many will regularly visit it with their children, choose it for personal holidays and weekends. This object can be called socially oriented. Even at the stage of laying the foundation of the future entertainment center, representatives of the city administration talked about organizing visits to water attractions by orphans and children brought up in low-income families. According to the authorities, it is very important that every child in the region can visit the new water park in Orenburg. Prices for visiting the complex are not yet forecasted, and the estimated type of tariffing for guests is not discussed. The city is eagerly awaiting the opening of the water park, and many of its residents claim that they go to this place at least once, even if the entrance fee is noticeably high.
Does Orenburg need a water park?
To date, the entire Orenburg region does not have its own large water park. Residents of the region who want to ride water rides have two options: to be content with mini-slides in the pools of saunas and hotel complexes, or to organize trips to aqua-complexes located several hundred kilometers away. Moreover, society has an interest in this type of entertainment. If the new water park in Orenburg still opens, it will be very popular, experts say. It is worth noting that Tortuga is not the first project of a large water entertainment center in this region. In 2010, it was planned to build a water park on Novaya Street, but the construction was frozen in the initial stages. Today, the residents of Orenburg show great interest in any news about Tortug and are looking forward to the opening of the complex.
