Anastasia Grebenkina: the road to success
Athlete's career began at age 5, when her mother first brought her to the figure skating section. In parallel with this, little Anastasia was engaged in ballet - perhaps it was in the ballet school that the artistry, grace and grace appeared in her, which later distinguished her performances. She had to change partners, play for national teams of different countries, but she perceived each new challenge by Grebenkin as an opportunity.
The bright beautiful blonde is successful both on the ice and beyond: after the end of her career, she managed to open her own school, which most skaters dream of. She rides in shows, leads a social life, acts in films.
Victory on the ice
With performances for Latvia, Anastasia Grebenkina began her career, the biography of the athlete took the countdown from performances for this country. Latvia gave her a ticket to the big sport, but when she had a chance to return to Russia, she took advantage of it. The famous coach Natalya Linichuk offered to skate with the young figure skater Vazgen Azroyan for Russia, to train in Moscow. The duo was prophesied a great future, but unexpectedly for everyone it broke up: Vazgen continued his performances with another partner from America.
At that time, Anastasia continued to perform for Russia together with the talented skater Vitaly Novikov. The duo lasted five years, after which Grebenkina and Azroyan again began to perform together. This stage can be called the most successful in the career of a figure skater - they three times became the best in the championships of Armenia, became the first athletes from this country who managed to win medals at the Grand Prix stage.
In 2008, on the first day of the competition at the European Championships, Grebenkina fell unsuccessfully and was unable to complete the dance. This was the last official performance of the couple: in the same year they announced that they were leaving the sport.
Sports Achievements and Awards
Anastasia Grebenkina three times became the champion of Armenia in a pair with Azroyan in 2002, 2003 and 2004. At the Grand Prix stage in Japan in 2006, they managed to win a bronze medal. In 2004, the couple became the winner of the tournament held in honor of the famous Austrian Olympic champion Karl Schäfer.
Private life
Even during her career, Anastasia actively led a social life: she took part in the shooting of the movie “Star of the Empire” in the role of Maria Fedorovna, skated in yet another ambitious project - the show “Dancing on Ice”, where, together with singer Sergey Lazarev, she was able to take third place.
The ISU international committee reacted extremely negatively to her participation in the show: a letter was sent to her, warning the athlete from participating in such events under the threat of removal from the competition. Then she refused such shows, choosing figure skating.
Anastasia Grebenkina is a regular guest at charity events. She visits social rehabilitation centers for teenagers with special needs, arranges ice shows for children from orphanages, and helps refugees from Ukraine.
In 2009, she launched the production of a line of designer skates under her own brand. In 2010, the athlete found the happiness of motherhood by giving her husband a son. The closest friend, by her own admission, is another former skater, now singer and actress Anna Semenovich.
Figure skating school
The Anastasia Grebenkina School of Figure Skating is a diverse institution that works in several areas at once. Grebenkina is the leader and main ideological inspirer of this project, takes part in trainings and performances held under the auspices of her school. Classes take place at once on four large skating rinks of the capital, their number is constantly increasing.
Group children's classes are distinguished by the special attention of teachers to all kids: under the strict guidance of professionals, they take their first steps in figure skating, the foundation of their skill is laid. The coaching staff regularly conducts sets in groups, creating them depending on age, height and other characteristics.
For adults, individual lessons are held at the school, during which any person can not only learn how to stay on ice, but also master various figures and elements. Also, classes on ice fitness are held at the school - this is a fundamentally new type of sports training that combines dance elements on ice with fitness.
