One of the main types of products of the tractor factory in the city of Vladimir was light universal traction-class machines up to 0.6 tons. This technique was widely used when working in gardens and in shallow fields. The machines were widely used as vehicles and as drives for various stationary installations.
Engine
The T-30 tractor was created as a modernized version of the T-25. The main power unit of the entire T-30 family of vehicles is the 30-horsepower D-120 two-cylinder diesel engine. One of the design features of the motor was an air cooling system. Air is supplied from an axial fan installed in a protective casing. The air under pressure goes to the finned cylinders and heads and removes excess heat from them. The flow rate is controlled by a rotary disk in the fan inlet. Such a system can significantly simplify the design of the engine and facilitates its operation and repair. The tractor engine T-30 in the photo below.
The engine is started by a conventional electric starter powered by a 12-volt 6ST 90A3 battery. To facilitate starting the engine has a decompressor. The engine is equipped with two types of single-disk clutches - a permanently closed type or with an additional unlockable disk for power take-off drive. The power take-off shaft has only one rotational speed - 540 revolutions.
Transmission and chassis
To transmit torque to the wheels, a mechanical gearbox with a reversing mechanism is used. An additional lowered row is installed in the box, breaking each main gear into two. The design of the box provides six gears forward and backward, except for the first (in the usual row and in slow motion), which is used only for forward movement under heavy road conditions. The minimum speed of the T-30 is only one and a half kilometers per hour.
All nodes of the box have one common crankcase with an integrated lubrication system. The maximum speed of the T-30 tractor does not exceed 24 km / h. The chassis has a device for adjusting the ride height and track, which allows you to use the machine for processing various crops. General view of the tractor in the photo below.
For braking, a dry foot brake system with foot drive is used. In the parking lot, the same brakes are fixed in a clamped form by a special stopper. When operating the tractor with a trailer, the brake master cylinder is installed to drive the trailer brakes. This item is optional. Optionally, balancing weights weighing from 40 to 160 kg can be installed on the front of the tractor.
Workplace
Ensuring comfortable working conditions for the driver is one of the most important characteristics of the tractor. The T-30 is equipped with a fully metal cabin with one seat and two doors. The power base of the cab is a rigid tubular frame, which ensures the safety of the driver when capsizing the car. To maintain the climate, a heating system (optional) and ventilation are installed. Heating is powered by the engine oil system.
A large glazing area provides the driver with a good overview. Additionally, the cabin has a heated air supply to the front glass, a lighting system, a sun visor and places for a thermos and a tool box. Optionally, cars can be equipped with an open cabin or a cabin consisting only of a protective tarpaulin tent above the driver's head. The photo below shows a tractor with all-wheel drive, equipped with a self-made reinforcing frame-trunk on the cab.
To facilitate the management of the tractor in the steering, a hydraulic booster is used. The steering column itself is adjustable in two directions, which provides additional convenience for the driver. The tractor operation parameters are controlled by the temperature and oil pressure indicator in the engine, tachospeedometer, fuel level indicators and the ammeter of the electrical system. The tachospeedometer has a built-in engine hour meter that determines the frequency of maintenance of the T-30 tractor.
Modifications
On the basis of the T-30, several different versions were produced that had the equipment to perform certain types of work. All versions were equipped with a three-point attachment system. The list of modifications is as follows:
- T30-69, with single disc clutch and dependent shaft for power take-off. Such a machine was used for preparatory work before plowing and harvesting.
- T30-70, with double-disc clutch and independent shaft for power take-off. The main scope of the machine was grape plantations.
- T30 KO, for utilities. It was mainly used for cleaning sidewalks in the winter and summer season.
- T30A-80, all-wheel drive version and 1000 kg payload.
- T-45, a late version of the base machine, equipped with the new 45-horsepower three-cylinder diesel D-130.
