Khimki city district is famous for its sports traditions. On its territory there are three stadiums, including the "Homeland", where football matches and other public events are regularly held.
Rodina Stadium (Khimki)
This arena was built almost 50 years ago. In 2007, the Rodina stadium (Khimki) again received spectators after a radical reconstruction, which was made specifically on the occasion of the football club of the same name entering the Premier League. As a result of the work of the builders, the capacity of the arena was increased, and it is able to receive up to 10 thousand spectators. Another reconstruction was performed on this arena relatively recently, in the summer of 2013. Its result was a new artificial turf certified by FIFA. The northern and southern stands were also dismantled, which freed up space to create a platform where you can engage in street sports.
After the reconstruction, "Homeland" began to be used for competitions and training amateurs.
Khimki Arena
This modern sports arena is much younger than the Rodina Stadium. Khimki was built in 2008 on the site of the five thousandth Novator. The latter by then faithfully served the players for more than 43 years.
The Dutch stadium is laid on the new stadium, which retains a fresh look even in early spring and late autumn. Its stands are protected from wind and precipitation. A modern soundproofing and lawn irrigation system was used.
For a while, while the new home stadium of CSKA was under construction, Khimki became the home of the army. There were also held matches of the capital Dynamo, which is waiting for the completion of the reconstruction of its arena.
According to experts, such a magnificent new stadium should not stand idle, so FC Khimki just needs to achieve a return to the Premier League.
"New Khimki"
This stadium opened in 1999. Initially, it was a modest hockey box, a soccer field (natural grass) and a platform for indoor soccer. Three years later, the stadium was reconstructed. As a result, two football fields appeared, as well as a new administrative building with medical and teaching rooms, a gym and modern changing rooms.
For most of the year, young athletes train and conduct matches at the stadium. Important events were held there.
In particular, in 2004 the sports complex hosted the final stage of the Leather Ball football tournament among children's teams.
Today, the stadium seats 3,000 spectators and is equipped with a modern electronic scoreboard. It should be noted that Novye Khimki was twice recognized as the best sports facility of the Moscow Region among sports complexes. In addition, you can leave Leningradsky Train Station by train to Khimki Railway Station, and then take bus No. 3 or minibus No. 3, 19, 7, 51 (Detsky Mir stop).
