Not much is known about his family. The hockey player practically does not talk about parents. But in an interview he mentioned his grandfather and grandmother many times. His grandfather was a military pilot and flew attack aircraft. My grandmother was also associated with flights, she worked as a stewardess. Ruben Begunts himself admitted that this influenced him and his dream. From childhood he wanted to become a pilot and fly on MiG-class aircraft. But everything changed dramatically after he saw the ice.

For the first time, Ruben Begunts skated at the age of four. Grandfather brought him to the ice. Pupil of the youth sports school of the Olympic reserve of the central sports club of the army. Hockey player's shock arm is left. Begunts became famous for his aggressive behavior on the field, usually such attackers are called tough guy. At the age of ten, he left for America, the city of Detroit. For which, probably, he got his nickname - Amerikos. In the United States, he became a promising hockey player. He was a striker of the youth army hockey club "Red Army". He took part in the Youth Hockey League. He also managed to visit the clubs “Wings of the Soviets” and “Chemist” on a rental basis. After returning to his homeland, he quickly signed a contract with the hockey club CSKA (role - striker) and began training at the financial academy. He brilliantly graduated from the academy, defending a thesis written about his close friend - the famous hockey player Alexander Ovechkin.

Then, having decided to tie with the athlete’s career, he focused on the career of a sports marketer. After that, he easily got a prestigious and highly paid position as a marketing and development specialist in his CSKA club.

Awards

During his short career as an athlete, Ruben Begunts managed to receive the Kharlamov Cup award in 2011. He is also a bronze medalist of the First League championship. Used in CSKA number 81.

He played seventeen matches in the Youth Hockey League, five of them in the playoffs. He threw five goals into the opponents' goal. One goal in the playoffs. In total, he earned eight points in the MHL, four of which in the playoffs. As part of the Continental Hockey League, he played seven games.
