Colombian tie. Cruel torture or a delicious cocktail?

Colombian tie is a torture that will hit even notorious maniacs. This is a cruel method of execution, during which the victim is sharpened with a knife to make a horizontal cut in the throat, through which the tongue is pulled. This is mainly done to intimidate those who see the corpse. The tongue reaches to the chest and looks like a real tie. A victim usually dies of blood loss or strangulation. This method of killing is quite aggressive, and one of its main goals is a kind of warning about illegal activities. Even a blurry photo of a Colombian tie can set the true path of many crazy and aggressive representatives of the human race.

History

For the first time such a method of murder appeared approximately in 1950 in Colombia, during the major armed conflict of La Violencia. Chaos began after the assassination of leader Jorge Elécer Gaitán.

It is a common misconception that a Colombian tie was invented in the 1970s by Colombian drug lord Pablo Escobar. However, for the first time this and many other cruel forms of execution were recorded precisely during La Violencia. According to historians, about 300,000 people died during that period, not counting those who were seriously injured but managed to survive.

In the media, the term "Colombian tie" first appeared in 1985 in the Washington Post, in an article on the Code of Silence movie with Chuck Noris. In addition, according to some sources, in the late 1980s, this torture began to be used in the illegal pharmaceutical industry. However, there is still no evidence that it was the Colombian drug lords who took the tie out of their country. It is also not known whether this “ritual” was performed on a living person or whether the victim was previously killed in other ways.

The Simpson Case

June 12, 1994 a terrible event happened. American Nicole Brown-Simpson and her friend Ronald Goldman were brutally murdered in their own house, while the two young children women were sleeping peacefully in the next room. The bodies of the dead were severely cut up: Nicole's head was completely separated from the body, and Ronald Goldman suffered multiple wounds in the neck and chest.

Initially, the murder was suspected of former husband Nicole Simpson, the famous basketball player O. Jay Simpson, but after a lengthy trial, the jury passed the acquittal of the man .

The nature of the injuries is similar to a Colombian tie - a favorite torture of Colombian drug lords. It was on this basis that, during the trial, an alternative version arose that the murder was organized by Colombian drug dealers, who owed a large amount of money to Nicole's girlfriend, Fay Reznik. Women were close friends, peers and lived next to each other, and presumably the killer simply confused the victim.

Movie appearance

Such a perverted and, it makes no sense to deny, spectacular torture to one degree or another has appeared in many films and series.

  • In the Code of Silence movie, gangster Luis Camacho (actor Henry Silva) tells police officer Eddie Cusack (Chuck Norris) how he will one day give him a Colombian tie and how it will look good on him. Also in this film, one of the victims of the war between the gangsters was killed in this way.
  • In the 11th episode of the 3rd season of the series “Nation Z”, the heroine Annie says that this was how her ex-husband died, even before the onset of the apocalypse.
  • In the 7th episode of the 2nd season of the series "Agents" Shch.I.T. in the Boston bar, where the traitor Grant Ward is on the run, fleeing from his allies and opponents, the cocktail “Colombian tie” is mentioned.
  • In episode 11 of the Hannibal series, Dr. Hannibal Lecturer and Abel Gideon inspire Colombian ties to the victims with inspiration.
  • This torture is also mentioned in the TV series Supernatural, Escape, American Family, McGyver, and Game of Thrones.

Use in music

Do not worry. None of the musicians was involved in anything criminal, but some of them used Colombian torture as a "strong word."

  • The AC / DC Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap song mentions “ties” when listing the methods of murder, most likely a reference to Colombian torture.
  • Hollywood Undead in the song Dead Bite sings “you got a first class ticket to Columbian Neckties”.
  • The Australian band I Killed The Prom Queen has a whole song, Your Shirt Would Look Better With A Colombian Necktie, which translates as "Your shirt looks better with a Colombian tie."

Columbia Tie Recipe

Not. It will not be about how to properly incise the neck and the better to extend the tongue.

The Colombian tie cocktail really exists. This is not a fantasy of the creators of the series “Agents“ SC.I.T. ” This is a rather palatable combination and the daring effect of intoxication, which has nothing to do with torture other than the name.

To make this drink you will need

  • 60 ml Bacardi 151 rum.
  • 60 ml peach liquor.
  • 120 ml of ginger ale.
  • A little grenadine syrup.

Fill a tall glass with ice. Add rum, peach liquor, ginger ale and a couple drops of grenadine. Stir the cocktail lightly, garnish with cherry and enjoy.

Let's hope that this cocktail is the only Colombian tie that all law-abiding citizens around the world will have to face.
