General information
The city of Udomlya, Tver Oblast, occupies 9 square kilometers, that is, it is a small settlement. There are two lakes on the territory of the settlement - Udomlya and Pesvo.

History
The first written mention of the village was discovered in 1478 when describing the events of the accession of Novgorod estates to Moscow. The settlement has retained its historical name to this day.
In the 60s of the XIX century, construction began, the Vindava-Rybinsk railway line was laid. By 1869, not far from the village of Panoshino, the Trinity station was built. Meaning of the word
Researchers and historians have different approaches to the interpretation of the name of the city of Udomly.
According to one version, the word itself has Finno-Ugric roots and means “calm lake”. Other historians translate the word “pit lake”. Indeed, the depth of Lake Udomlya in some places reaches 40 meters.
