Each user of a personal computer uses the connection protocol of a private virtual network VPN to connect to the Internet. Since the VPN contains high hardware encryption in its code, it is impossible to join it without activation within the network. This leads to a lot of problems.
Causes of VPN 807 Error
Failure shows the disconnection of the computer from the virtual part of the network.
Error 807 is due to the fact that the connection to the VPN server was interrupted due to network latency problems or because the server reached its full load. The connection is interrupted even if the device has the ability to connect to the VPN network.
Hardware Causes of Error
- The VPN connection is blocked by a firewall, antivirus, or other filter program (the firewall, like antivirus, blocks the connection, considering it to be safe for the computer).
- Communication with TCP port 1723 during connection (error 807 indicates lack of communication with the transmitting network protocol).
- Poor Internet connection (here the reasons are a broken communication line or technical problems with the Internet provider itself).
- Incorrect routing, overloading the VPN server (these errors indicate the inability to connect due to the fact that the equipment is unable to cope with a large number of users on the network).
Methods of eliminating error 807
You should check all of the above problems in sequence.
- Open the Windows control panel, find the firewall tab and turn off the home and shared network settings. For the antivirus, we perform the same operation, only in the firewall - the defender of the antivirus itself.
- Now check the connection. If unlocking the systemβs defenders did not help, then you should check the protocol transfer to port 1723. To do this, open the firewall again and go to the "Advanced" tab. Next, go to the "Inbound Connection Rule". We open this item and in the "Action" menu we allow the connection for the port. After that we reboot the computer.
- If, after a reboot, error 807 continues to occur, you must contact your ISP (it will notify you of a server problem or congestion), and also check if your computer "sees" the virtual network. If the user is inactive on the server, you must call a specialist who will check the status of your communication line.
If the suggested methods did not solve the problem, contact your system administrator for help and tell us in detail about the error that occurs.
